Reflection Paragraphs

Assignment I am most proud of

The essay I’m most proud of was actually the Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer essay from

the first semester of senior year. For this assignment the class was required to pick 1 out of 7

essay prompts and I chose number 5 which discussed why the possible reasons why the person

the book is about, Chris McCandless went into the wild and left his previous life. I’m not proud

because while writing it became transitioned from a boring assignment into something I wanted

to do and had fun writing it. I felt like everything came together in my mind and like it was a

culmination of other work and miscellaneous lessons that I had no idea could be applied to that

essay and it just worked.

My Growth

I believe I’ve grown in each subject and category as a result of education from school

however in my I’ve become more able to articulate whatever I want to say and study more. In

the grade transcript generally the subjects I have improved in is math and economics. I did well

in economics with a A-. In E.R.W.C. however I have grown mostly in the category of Speaking

and Listening. Last semester it was at 89.62% and this semester is at 81.33% which is better than

previous years and can be attributed to how I have grown over the years sow I’ve matured and

overcome a little of my social anxiety and introverted personality which was consistent as

roadblocks throughout the years of school.

Further Growth

From my own understanding and from the grade transcript I can most improve the

categories of writing and reading. From these categories I have seen one with some development

and the other with some downfall. Reading had a 64.85% last semester this senior year and is

currently at 72.8%. My reading was 72.8% and is 64% this semester.

How Great Oak High School has prepared me

Great Oak high school has prepared me for the next step most significantly by preparing

me to take the next step and enter college as well as by teaching me economics, sales and

marketing, and math which I will continue to use not only in the next step but also the steps after.

Through school i've learned to set goals of mine and receiving support from my parents and the

staff Ive been able to be accepted in the college I want.
