Associated Learning Standard(s): The resource may be generally applicable, if so, simply state that. List any ISTE-S standards that
seem to naturally align with the selected resource.
I believe that this tool hits the ISTE standards 1=4 for teachers, as well as ISTE standards 1, 2, and 4 for students.

RESOURCE DESCRIPTION
The web service known as Pear Deck is an online based service that allows teachers to make their lectures and presentation more
interactive for the benefit of their students. Pear Deck is also fully integrated with Google Drive, Google Slides, and almost all of
Google’s apps. This allows for ease of importing PowerPoint docs and other files. For the most part, the resource functions like a
Google Slides or PowerPoint, but that is just on the surface. Once the presentation is ready to start, the teacher can have the
students join the Pear Deck presentation on any device with internet access. Once they have joined, the teacher can monitor who
has joined and once ready can begin the presentation. During the presentation, students are able to follow along on their devices,
and when needed, the teacher can pause and ask an interactive question that the student can answer on their device and share it
with the teacher through Pear Deck (similar to how Kahoot functions). The teacher can use these quick question to check for
understanding or to do a formative assessment. With the results the teacher receive, the lesson could be adapted to meet the
needs shown by the formative assessment results. Once the presentation is complete, the instructor can save the session within
the Pear Deck site and it will save all the assessment results onto the cloud and the instructor can organized the files by class
period. This tool really revitalizes the typical PowerPoint presentation by adding the element of student involvement.

INTEGRATION IDEA – PRESENTATION

Since the tool allows for interactive learning from the students, I believe that the students will feel more connected to the lecture
and by being able to provide their individual answers to the teacher during the presentation the students can receive feedback
which can help their learning even more. Last but not least, since the presentation is interactive, the students will always be
active members in their learning, instead of being passive receivers.

VALUE-ADDED EXPLANATION
I personally would rate Pear Deck as a 2. I believe that their options it brings to the table to be on a whole other level
than what PowerPoint could do. Also, the fact that it is compatible with Google schools gives it the same tools that
Google has. It allows for student involvement during the instructional input of the lesson. The lesson will definitely be
enhanced, because when students have more involvement their learning is increased. The main reason I could not give
Pear Deck a 3 is because the tool is mostly being used by the instructor.
