Chapter I: Introduction

Project Statement

In past decades, the International Convention center in the Philippines has been less prioritizing by the
government and the other developers. Although, there have PICC but is situated in the NCR region. The
Calabarzon region is also one of the country’s leading regions for economic investment and growth.

Since the Calabarzon is the second densely populated in the Philippines because it is the closest region to
Metro Manila and still this region is lack of convention center or a cultural facility, the proposed “Laguna
International Convention Center” helps the people around and on Calabarzon to promote a natural culture of
the province and progress towards future tourism.

Having this kind of facility in Calabarzon helps to open opportunities for local and foreign tourists and in future
it can become the second PICC that situated in Calabarzon. The idea of creating a modernize environmental
design is to fully contributes in the region needs.

Project Objectives

General Objective

A “modernize environmental architecture” Laguna International Convention Center in Calamba Laguna,


Calabarzon that will set a future tourism region as next International Convention Center in the Philippines
and to prioritize the needs for people in this region.

Specific Objectives

 To provide an efficient facilities that can handle people around Calabarzon


 To operate a community art venue and other activities
 To provide a open opportunities for the locals and for future tourism
 To promote the importance of have a International Convention Center in Calabarzon
 To coordinate and integrate with government agencies and public institutions for the growth of
exhibitions and conferences industry in this region.
 To provide a close access convention center in Calabarzon
