Job Description Community Centre Worker (Maternity Leave Cover)

Job Title
Community Centre Worker.

Location
Monksfield Lawns, Clondalkin, Dublin 22.

Reporting to
The community centre worker will report to, and be responsible to the manager
and/or the assistant manager in the first instance and ultimately to the Board of
Directors.

Main duties

The community centre worker will work as part of the community centre team as
follows (this list is non-exhaustive and will be revised from time to time):

1. Carry out reception duties.

2. Answer the phone.
3. Take bookings.
4. Provide information on the Centre’s activities.
5. Meet and greet centre visitors.
6. Draft rosters on a weekly basis.
7. Supervision of centre visitors.
8. Help support and develop children, adult and senior’s clubs and groups.
9. Supervision of children, young people and seniors in clubs, groups or drop in’s
that are run by the centre staff and Clondalkin Youth Service.
10. Responsible for opening and closing of centre when required.
11. Assist in the general cleaning and up-keep of the centre.
12. Any other tasks as assigned by the centre manager and/or Board of Directors.

Schedule
The schedule is flexible, generally including but not strictly: one night, two
afternoons and 2 mornings. Saturdays are a requirement on a rotational status. The
weekly working hours is 26 hours and 30 minutes.

Requirements
 Garda vetting is necessary for this appointment.
 Child Protection and Children First training are necessary for this
appointment (may be provided by the centre).
 Reference checking is necessary for this position.
