Summary

A 10 year-old girl named Opal has to adapt to the ways

of living in a small town in Florida. Her mother abandoned her, Monika Rorata
so now she lives with her father (who is a preacher). Without her
old friends, Opal is lonely knowing that she has a horrible
relationship with her father. Life started to change when she Muhib Muhib
met a puppy. When she was going to the grocery store for
shopping, a puppy came in and stirred up chaos. A man said,
"Call the pound!" Opal claimed the dog, so he wouldn't have to Anna
go to the pound, but knew her father would say no. She named Stolbovskaya
the dog "Winn-Dixie," after the store. Will she be able to keep
Winn-Dixie? If yes, what will happen after that? Well I'm not
going to tell you, you're going to have to read the book!

March 25, 1964. She is an American writer of childrens' fiction for
all reading levels, usually featuring animals. She has won Newbery Kinga Karp

Medals, from her novels, "The Tale of Despereaux", which was made
at 2003 and "Flora & Ulysses," which was made in 2013.

Make sure you listen to your teachers. This will make you a hardworking student
and possibly make the school year seem faster :). Another tip is to get along with
friends. Try to stay out of fights and never tell secrets to someone you don't trust. Last,
but not least, try to complete all your homework. If you are busy at home, try to finish it
at recess or at lunch. Remember, never rush and try your best!

The Facts Behind July 4th
The Fourth of July or Independence Day
has been a holiday since 1941. On July
2nd, 1776 Congress voted for
Independence. Two days later, delegates
from the 13 colonies adopted the
Declaration of Independence, a
document drafted by Thomas Jefferson.
From 1776 to present time, July 4th has
been celebrated as the birth of American
Independence. When the initial
Revolutionary War broke out in April
1775, colonists desired complete
independence from Great Britain. The
vote for actual independence took place
on July 2nd.

Marylin Monroe
Marilyn Monroe's original name was Norma
Jeane Mortenson, later called Norma Jeane
Baker. She was born on June 1, 1926 in Los
Angeles, California. She was an American
actress who became succesful in motion
pictures. She married the playwright Arthur
Miller in 1956. Marylin Monroe sadly died
on August 5, 1962. She became
super popular and is still known By: Ashley Juarez
today!
DIY Mini Mason
Aquarium Jars
• Pint sized Mason jar(or Jelly jars).
Sea Life Miniature figures
• Plastic aquarium plants
• Aquarium gravel (Any color you
want)
• Glitter (Optional)
• Filtered water
STEPS:
Add the plant, then add at least an inch of
gravel, and 1/2 teaspoon of glitter. Fill a large
glass of water and add 1 drop of blue food
coloring, then 2 sea animals of your choice.
