Once upon a time in an animal farm, a farmer who lived with his beautiful
daughter named Mary. Mary was a happy and dreamy girl.
It was a summer morning, and Mary was sleeping when her father came to her
room and sang to her.
- The farmer: ♪♫♬ Happy Birthday to You, Happy Birthday to You, Happy Birthday
Dear Mary, Happy Birthday to You ♪♫♬. Good morning daughter, I have a
surprise for you! I hope that today the cows give a lot of milk, because today you
will go to sell it to the market and all the money that they give you for it, will be for
you.
Said her father with great enthusiasm, and they continued talking.
- Mary: Seriously dad?
- The farmer: Yes, that will be your birthday present! First, we go to where the cow
Lola to see how much milk you will give.
Mary and her dad went to the barn where the cow Lola was, and Mary happily
started to milk her.
- The farmer: Come on Lolita, give us a lot of milk that today is Mary’s birthday.
After a while, and some milking cows, the farmer told him:
- The farmer: Ok my daughter, you have enough milk to fill your cantarito, now go
to the town and in the market, sell the milk.
Mary was singing by the way… When she heard the noise of a horse, it was her
friend Tránsito Concepción who was coming.
- (Tránsito): Hello Mary!
- (Mary): Well, today is my birthday and my dad gave me all the milk to sell and the
money I earn will be all mine.
- (Tránsito): Happy birthday! what luck you have, I hope you sell all the milk.
- (Tránsito): I have an idea, why not? You get on the horse with me and so you get
to the market faster because I also go there.
After advancing a few meters, Mary realized that her cantarito moves a lot.
While Mary was on the way, she was thinking what she will do with her money…
- (Mary): When I sell the milk I will buy a basket full of eggs and wait for the chicks
to come out, I will take care of them very well when they grow they will be
chickens and then I will sell them and with the money I will buy a pig and then
sell the pig and with that money I will buy a cow to give me a lot of milk and so I
can go to sell it every day to the market and it will be like my birthday every day, I
can already imagine it.
When suddenly, Paquito appeared, a boy who had always been in love with her.
- (Mary): To sell all this milk and all the money I earn will be mine and so I can buy
many things with him, you know why?
- (Paquito): Why?
- (Mary): Thanks
Paquito, a bit embarrassed, asked Mary if he could accompany her along the way,
afraid of her answer.
- (Mary): Oh, my god! Look at what you did, you shed all my milk and broke my
cantarito, and now how will I buy my chicks and my cow?, and how will I tell my
father that I broke the cantarito?
Mary picked up the remains of her cantarito, and she returned to her house very
sad with her broken cantarito in her hand… When she arrived at the farm, she
told everything to her dad with tears in her eyes, and her dad told her:
- (Mary) Paquito appeared and broke my cantarito and shed all the milk, now I
could neither have a cow nor a farm.
-
But she didn't know that her father had a surprise to her.
- (The farmer): I know what is your most dream, forget the milk. As a birthday
present, I will give you Lola Cow.
Mary was very happy because her dreams had been made, and now she could
have her caw and her farm. Also, her father made a party and invited all the
town… and me too.
