EGAT Head Office Information
Regarding to the approval in principle of
EGAT Administrative Board to develop the
master plan of its Head Office premises
including the North Bangkok Power Plant area
and also the budget approval for the
construction of this new Head Office to
replace the unfunctional building effected by
the construction of the new North Bangkok
Power Plant, this project will help improving
not only life and environmental quality but
also the utilization of land as indicated in the
master plan.

the integration of the building and the
surrounding to gain “not only an office but a
pleasant place to work” within the concept of
energy-saving building.

The design concept of
energy saving

11

1. Create the green and cool environment around the building

for the benefit of cooling down the temperature by.
y Utilizing the landscape can help reduce the ambient temperature by 3-5 oc.

12
1. Create the green and cool environment around the building
for the benefit of cooling down the temperature by.
y Some of the trees and shrubs are pollution-absorbing.

y Rubber Plant (Ficus robusta),

y Peace Lily (Spathiphyllum clevelandii),
y Boston Fern (Nephrolepis exaltata ),
y Red Emerald Philodendron (Philodendron erubescens ),
y Gerbera Daisy (Gerbera jamesonii ),
y Areca Palm (Chrgsalido carpus lutesers).

13

2. The building was properly oriented in order to maximize

natural daylight but minimize the heat gained by:
2.1 Orientation : 2.2 Select the shape of the building

• Locate the building in the proper direction • Shading of the front side • Shading of the back side
