DUCT LEAK TEST CALCULATION SHEET AS PER SMACNA GUIDELINE

As per SMACNA, Duct leakage Factor (F) is calculated by the equation F = CL x (P)0.65
Where
F = Leakage Factor (CFM/100 Ft2 of Duct Surface Area)
CL = Leakage Class
P = Static Pressure in the duct (inch of wc)

Worked Example for Test Report Ref: VEPL/ABPL/DUCT/008

Leakage Class (CL) Considered in this test : 24 (As per SMACNA)

Static Pressure in the duct given : 500 Pa (2’’ of wc)
Duct Area considered: 48.51 Sqm (522 Sqft)

Leakage Factor (CL) = 24 x (2)0.65

= 24 x 1.569
= 37.656 (Allowable leakage in CFM/100SQFT of duct Area)

Leakage Factor for the duct Area 522 sqft = 37.656 x 522 / 100
Permissible limit = 196.56 CFM
