 Annie Camp Junior High (Spring 2016)

 I enrolled in Introduction to Secondary Education (Field 1) at Arkansas State University
and was placed at Annie Camp Jr. High for an 8 week observation in the classroom. My
teacher, Beth Avery, was the educator for 7th grade science & 9th grade physical science. I
was allowed to observe the students work, speak with Mrs. Avery about planning &
procedure, and assist in laboratory activities such as dissection, rocket launching, and
acceleration labs.

 Rivercrest Junior High

 I was allowed to observe and guest teach a lecture in Mrs. Janie Hattle’s 7th grade science
classes at Rivercrest Junior High. I was able to speak with Mrs. Hattle about lesson
planning, classroom management, and common core standards.

 Marked Tree High (Spring 2016)

 I was allowed to observe Mr. Jethro Antoine at Marked Tree High School in the Spring
2016. Mr. Antoine taught 11th grade anatomy, 8th grade science, and team taught Bio-Lit.
I was able to observe how team teaching works in the classroom & see how to correlate
Biology with Literacy. In this classroom, I was able to get insight on the Next Generation
of Science Standards for Arkansas and how to implement Project Based Learning.

 East Poinsett County High School (Spring 2016-2017)

 I was allowed to observe Mr. Powell & Mrs. Gordan at East Poinsett County High School
in the Spring 2016. I observed Mrs. Parrish in the spring of 2017 in the Biology courses
at EPC. Mr. Powell taught 7th & 8th grade science and Mrs. Gordan taught 11th grade
Chemistry. In this school, I was able to observe how teaching to different grade levels
and subjects make a better teacher. I was able to observe how the practice for the ACT
Aspire Test should be done.
