PERSONAL INTERVIEW (TECHNICAL)

Technical questions were mainly designing based for me, started off with the distillation columns

to boilers- basic stuffs but do read some of the nuances important for optimisation and increasing

productivity.Distillation- Mc-Cabe Theile method for determination of number of stages and also

prepare for the materials used for these equipments- what properties of the material made you

select that?. Some questions related to combustion of coal and thermal power- so would be

advisable to read some of it.

PERSONAL INTERVIEW (HR)

This was indeed a long affair (far more than technical), with questions ranging from "Why is your

name Trishal?", to "Why BHEL?" and "How important this job is for you?", "Are you going for

higher studies?"- whatever you intend to do never answer in affirmative to this question if you are

serious about this job. Some pressure tactics were also employed enquiring about the companies

you have tried for before this- be cool and don't feel tensed or panicky.
SUMMARY OF EXPERIENCES

Overall a pleasant experience with a few tight moments during the HR questions, maintaining your

cool at those instances is what I think will get you through, especially if you have a high cgpa

questions will be more around HR checking whether you actually intend to join them. The site of 5-

6 very senior and experienced men in the panel does look a bit intimidating but it gets fine with

time especially with one of them being very gentle and helpful.

SUGGESTIONS TO JUNIORS

High CGPA is one of the keys- it gives a very big advantage as to the type of questions being

asked- technical just some basics and if you are well prepared with HR, it gets you through. Don't

succumb to the pressure which they create just to check whether you'll join them or not, always

say I want to work now and make no mention of your higher studies plan. Good Luck guys, be

smart and cool and better keep your CGPA high...:)
