OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE

 To assess consumer awareness about processed foods.

 Whether the consumer knows how to check for product expiry, weight and
price.

 To know how much a consumer is aware about ingredients and nutrition

information.

 Draw out conclusive recommendations that may assist in developing

marketing strategies.

SECONDARY OBJECTIVE

 Consumer awareness about hygiene conditions of the product

 To know about satisfaction level of the consumer.

SCOPE OF STUDY

 To make a consumer aware about the product and associated information

printed on its packaging.

 To analyse the data and interpret it to draw out logical conclusions.

 To prepare questionnaire to assess consumer awareness about processed

food products.

 To study the data collected and recommend pragmatic measures

DATA USED

Primary data has been collected using questionnaire method to uncover the opinion,
awareness and attitude of the public towards junk food products.

DATA COLLECTION METHOD

A survey method has been used to collect the data.

INSTRUMENT USED
A carefully crafted questionnaire was used as a primary tool for the purpose of
survey. The questionnaire is properly structured and consists of a series of multiple choice
questions.

PERIOD OF SURVEY

SAMPLING

Sampling may be defined as the selection of some part of an aggregate or totality

on the basis of which a judgment or inference about the aggregate or totality is made.
Such research conducted by considering only a few units of population is called as
Sampling. Sampling is an important and persuasive activity. Sampling technique has its
own range of advantages

 Reduced cost owing to a study of selected units from the population

 Expedites the process as there are smaller number of units to be studied

 Better accuracy in results

 Better depth of information

 Feasibility to reserve units for reuse in experiments of destructive nature

METHODS OF SAMPLING

In this study non-probability sampling has been adopted. Under the non-probability
sampling, convenience sampling was opined the most suitable and hence chosen for the
purpose of study.

CONVENIENCE SAMPLING

A research means where sampling units are chosen primarily on the basis of
convenience to the researcher is known as Convenience Sampling.

SAMPLE SIZE

Ideally, a sample must be of optimum size i.e. it should be neither excessively large
nor too small. Technically, the sample size should be large enough to give a confidence
interval of desired width and must be chosen by a logical process before sample is taken.
