COMPANY BACKGROUND
2.1 HISTORY OF SNF

Headquartered in France, SNF is the largest polyacrylamide manufacturer and

industrial leader in the world. SNF has customers in over 130 countries. The SNF
Group comprises subsidiaries and joint ventures in more than 30 countries and
operates 20 production sites in Europe, Asia, Australia and the Americas. These water
soluble polymers are used in drinking water production, wastewater treatment,
enhanced oil recovery, mining, paper, agriculture, textile and cosmetics. SNF has a
wide product range of more than 1,000 references and introduces around 100 new
products every year thanks to a continued investment in research and development.
SNF entered Chinese market in 1992, by license agreement, SNF built first
PAM plant in China, 50 kt Petrochina Daqing Oilfield plant. Consequently, in order
to provide local sales support and technical service, Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou
sales office was founded. In 1998, Chinese plant SNF (China) Flocculant Co.,Ltd was
established, which can produce full series of Anionic/Cationic Powder, Emulsion,
Liquid. SNF’s operations & practices have got Governmental authorities recognition
by having been officially awarded as a “Green Plant”. SNF is aiming at and leading to
preserve Environment in the world for the future generation. The harmonious
development between people, environment and industry, is leading our development.

The amount of the staffs in SNF (China) is 792 people. There are 781 Chinese Staffs
which divided into few department :
 Production PAM Powders : 235
 Productions Monomer-Emulsions-Liquids : 173
 Production Support : 188
 Engineering-Maintenance : 85
 Commercial/Technical Support : 100
and 11 French Staffs.

2.5 SNF (CHINA) PRODUCTION UNIT

SNF (China) has few existing production lines that running in the Taixing Plan which
are :
 2 lines Acrylamide with 129kT productions per year.
 8 lines PAM Anionic Powder with 175 kT productions per year.
 4 lines PAM Cationic Powder with 45kT productions per year.
 7 lines Emulsions with total capacity 43 kT per year.
 7 lines Liquids with total capacity 70 kT per year.
 3 lines Dewatered Emulsion with 18 kT productions per year.
 1 Quaternization plant with total capacity 55 kT per year.
 2 line Polyamines with 20kT productions per year.
