PROJECT INTRODUCTION
Vipassana is a state of balance or alignment in body, mind,
and spirit.
In this state, we feel content; connected to purpose, people
and community; peaceful and energized; resilient and safe.
WHAT IS VIPASSANA MEDITATION ?
Vipassana, which means to see things as they really are, is
one of India's most ancient techniques of meditation. Since
the time of Buddha, Vipassana has been handed down, to
the present day, by an unbroken chain of teachers. Although
Indian by descent, Mr. S.N. Goenka, was born and raised in
Myanmar, began teaching Vipassana in 1969 in India. Since
then he has taught thousands of people of all races and all
religions in both the East and West. Vipassana Centers are
present all over India with 90 Centers & 16 Non- centers.
NEED OF VIPASSANA CENTRE ?
As the coronavirus pandemic rapidly sweeps across the
world, it is inducing a considerable degree of fear, worry and
concern in the population at large and among certain
groups in particular, such as older adults, care providers and
people with underlying health conditions. In public mental
health terms, the main psychological impact to date is
elevated rates of stress or anxiety. But as new measures and
impacts are introduced – especially quarantine and its
effects on many people’s usual activities, routines or
livelihoods – levels of loneliness, depression, harmful alcohol
and drug use, and self-harm or suicidal behavior are also
expected to rise.

WORKING OF THE CENTRE-
• Vipassana is a meditation technique where people
focus on their breath and inner self and are not allowed
to speak during the duration of the whole Course.
• The course is a residential course where there are
separate accommodations for male and female
meditators.
• Teachers and Volunteers are present in the centre for
teaching the technique and any other difficulties during
the course.
• The meditators are allowed to speak to the teachers for
any difficulties during the course.
• There are audio/video discourses held in different
languages in the centre.

The Global Vipassana Pagoda is a
notable monument in Mumbai which
serves for peace and harmony. It is
located in the North of Mumbai on a
peninsula between Gorai Creek and
the Arabian Sea. The global
vipassana pagoda was built out of
gratitude to the Buddha, his teaching
and the community of monks
practicing his teaching.
Its traditional Burmese design is an
expression of gratitude towards the
country of Myanmar for preserving
the practice of Vipassana. The shape
of the pagoda is a copy of the
Shwedagon Pagoda in the Yangon,
Myanmar. But the Shwedagon
Pagoda is made of solid masonry
whereas the Global Vipassana
Pagoda is hollow with an exceptional
dome to welcome meditators. It was
built combining ancient Indian and
modern technology to ensure it
lasting for a thousand years.

he Lotus Temple, located
in Delhi, India, is a Baha'i House of
Worship that was dedicated in
December 1986. Notable for
its flowerlike shape, it has become
a prominent attraction in the city. Like
all Houses of Worship, the Lotus
Temple is open to all, regardless of
religion or any other qualification.
According to Shoghi Effendi, a Baha'i
temple is a “silent teacher” of the
Baha'i faith. The building is composed
of 27 free-standing marble-clad
"petals" arranged in clusters of three
to form nine sides, with nine doors
opening onto a central hall with a
height of slightly over 34 meters and a
capacity of 2,500 people.
The temple gives the impression of a
half-open lotus flower, afloat,
surrounded by its leaves. Each
component of the temple is
repeated nine times. The temple is
open to people of all faiths,
languages and cultures. It is a symbol
of a United India. The outer surface of
the shells, as also the inner surface of
the arches, are cladded with white
marble panels fixed to the concrete
surface with specially designed
stainless steel brackets and anchors.
10,000 sq.m. of marble was quarried
from the Mount Pentile Kon mines of
Greece and thereafter sent to Italy,
where each panel was cut to the
required size and shape to suit the
geometry and architectural pattern
before transporting them to the site in
Delhi.

As per IS code, 135 liters is needed for daily use per person per day.

WATER TANK SIZE & CAPACITY CALCULATION

For 100 residents + 50 staff and visitors = 150 user
Total water requirement is 135 liters x 150 = 20,250 liters per day.
Volume of water formula as 1 m3 = 1000 liters of water.
Our requirement is 20,250 liters,
Therefore, 20,250 liters = 20.250 m3
So 20,250 liters water divided in two tanks 1 is 10,000 liters overhead
