1 A student carries out an experiment to investigate the relationship between the number of turns, N,
of a coil of wire and the induced current, I. A coil that is wound with 40 turns of insulated copper
wire is connected to a microammeter.
The arrangement of the apparatus is as shown in Diagram 1.1.

2. A student carries out an experiment to investigate the relationship between the electromotive force, E
and the internal resistance, r, of a cell.
The results of this experiment are shown in the graph of V against I in Diagram 2.1.

(ii) When there is no current passing through the circuit, the voltmeter across the cell gives a
