Possible Arrangements

Single unit
Suitable for buildings with passenger traffic mainly in one
direction. Flexible adjustment to traffic flow (e.g., upwards in
the morning and downwards in the evening) is possible.

Interrupted arrangement (one-way traffic)

This arrangement is somewhat inconvenient for users, but
advantageous for department store owners, since the short
detour to the next unit and the spatial separation between up
and down travel is ideal for leading customers past strategi-
cally placed advertising displays.

Continuous arrangement (one-way traffic)

This arrangement is used mainly in smaller department stores
to link three consecutive levels. It requires more space than
the interrupted arrangement.

Parallel, interrupted arrangement (two-way traffic)

This arrangement is used mainly in department stores and
public transport buildings with a heavy traffic volume. When
there are three or more escalators, it should be possible to
reverse the traveling direction according to the traffic flow.
This arrangement is economical, since no inner lateral clad-
dings are required.

Crisscross, continuous arrangement (two-way traffic)

This arrangement is used mainly in major department stores,
public buildings and public transport buildings where trans-
portation time between several levels should be kept to a
minimum.

Continuous arrangement (two-way traffic)

This arrangement is used also in large buildings where trans-
portation time between several levels is crucial, or is required
from architectural design. It needs more space than the inter-
rupted arrangement.

plate on either end.
6.Step sagging protection device:
It detects an unlevel step before it approaches the combplate. This is to stop the escala-
tor before the unlevel step crashes into the combplate, possibly preventing injury to a
passenger.
7.Broken drive-chain safety device:
When the step (plate) chain is over stretched or broken, the escalator will automatically
stop the operation.
8.Broken step chain protection:
When the step (plate) chain is over stretched or broken, the escalator will automatically
stop the operation.
9.Over-speed protection:
Stops the operation of the escalator in case of over-speed.
10.Direction reversal protection:
Stops the operation of the escalator in case of unintentional reversal of the direction of
travel.
11.Security line:
The front and sides of the steps are marked with a bright yellow synthetic resin, which
serves as a warning security line. The demarcation line on both sides of the step is
higher than the tread surface.
12.Emergency stop button:
It is used to stop manually the escalator in case of an emergency.

13.Skirt panel protection:

Stops the escalator when a foreign object gets caught between the skirt panel and the
step.
14.Brake protection:
In case of power failure the brake is activated.
15.Safety inspection switch:
A safety device used to prevent from starting the escalator during inspection and main-
tenance.
16.Step illumination:
A green fluorescent lamp is installed inside the escalator mechanism, under the steps at
the boarding point. The resulting illumination between the steps improves the passen-
gers’ awareness of the step divisions.
17.Alarm bell starting device:
To alert the passengers that the escalator is about to start its operation.
18.Control device for handrail breakage:
Stops the escalator in case of handrail breakage.

OPTIONAL SAFETY FEATURES

19.Handrail speed monitor:

Stops the operation of the escalator if a slippage between the handrail and the step is
detected.
20.Skirt panel brush:
A long continuous brush used as a deflector is installed between the skirt panel and the
step to prevent passengers from touching the skirt panel.
21.Fire-proof rolling door device:
Stops the escalator when activated.
22.Lower machine room drain:
Automatic drainage system for the lower machine room (for outdoor type only) .
23.Emergency brake:
It prevents escalator sliding in cases of drive chain breakage or brake failure (it should
be installed as standard for rise larger than 6m).

and streamline handrail inlet and outlet design.

automatic lubrication

The transmission chain is automatically lubricated by a PLC con-

trolled system, resulting in longer periods between maintenance.

fault display

In case of malfunction an error code number is shown on the

display, providing effective and accurate troubleshooting.

inbuilt step chain roller

The rollers are installed in the specially-designed roller step

chain, resulting in reduction of noise and smoother operation.

table type traction machine

It offers smooth engagement and higher efficiency, extremely low

noise, which is 60% less compared to the conventional worm
wheel drive.
