Farm tools, implements, and equipment play very important roles in agricultural crop production. In
order to do crop production operations successful, an operator must have a good working knowledge of the
tools, implements and equipment.

• FARM IMPLEMENTS - These are accessories which are being pulled by working animals or
mounted to machineries (hand tractor, tractor) which are usually used in the preparation of land.
These are usually made of a special kind of metal.

• HAND TOOLS - are usually light and are used without the help of animals or machines. They are
being used in performing farm activities which involve small areas like school garden and home
garden.
• FARM EQUIPMENT - These are machineries used in crop production. They are used in land
preparation and in transporting farm inputs and products. These equipment need a highly skilled
operator to use.
Activity: Identify and put a check (/) on the box for the appropriate tools or equipment to be used for the

In modern days, equipment are considered as part of human body in doing various tasks. More
specifically, farmers integrate technologies in farming. As time passes by, a lot of studies and ideas occur
to help farmers in terms of proper routines, check-ups, and cleaning procedures to maintain their tools and
equipment even after using it.
