Individual Child Activity Matrix with Outcome & Strategies

Child Outcome: L will follow 1-2-step directions during the activities for the day (especially during
clean-up).

Teacher Strategy One: The teachers will start with one step directions and gradually increase the
complexity of tasks (IECC Book).

Teacher Strategy Two: The teachers will encourage L by playing games that require the child to locate
an object or person, or follow simple directions (find a ball, point to your eye). (IELG D5 G48 Age 16-
38 Months CS1)

Teacher Strategy Three: The teachers will verbally acknowledge L when he follows directions
(Language Strategies Handout).

Daily Schedule/ In at least six areas of the routine below put how your toddler can practice their
Activity Area outcome using one or more of the strategies you have listed above.
Arrival L will follow directions when he arrives by finding his cubby and putting his jacket
away.

Peek-a-boo
Flop & Drop L will follow directions to keep the props that are provided in this area in that area
and not to take them to other areas.
Blocks

Make Believe

Indoor GM L will follow the directions given to him on the slide, such as, to take turns and go
down the slide one at a time.

Indoor FM

Art L will follow the safety instructions that are given to him at this center.

Sensory

Clean-up L will follow the directions given to him by the teachers to out the toys in the bin
during clean-up time.
Transitions

Large Group L will follow the expectations that are set by the teacher in this activity.
