WRITING TASK 1

The map shows a building plan of new school (S) in Canterbury city. Also, the Planning map has already
provided two possible sites for the school.

Overall, the main difference between the two sites is that S1 is outside the town, while S2 is in the
downtown. The sites can also be compared in terms of accessing and their positions of the town.

First, the location of site one is far from town centre, but is has more quiet environmental for pupils to
study. The main roads are also provided to this site and it will be able to help citizen to reach this site by
private vehicle or public transportations. Moreover, S1 is closer to the Sturry that has 7000 population
and certainly need school for numerous children.

Second, site two is located in the city centre where there is no traffic zone. The position is near from
people housing and easy to reach. Furthermore, the Chartham with its 4500 population has closer
distance to S2 and it is supported with main roads that connecting these two areas.
