BRIEF HISTORY
Bataan National High School started in 1916 in Orani, Bataan where students as
far as Pampanga and Zambales were enrolled. The school was headed by Mr. Gregorio
Ramirez as its first Principal followed by Mr. Andres Ranola and later on Mr. Antonio
Maceda. In 1920 it became a four-year secondary school with two Batches graduated,
with Rosario Consunji as the fist Valedictorian. The first school organ was also published
this year. In 1921 Bataan High School was transferred to Balanga and in 1923 Mr.
Fortunato De Leon a former executive secretary graduated as Valedictorian In 1930 the
school was razed to ground due to World War I & II. After the World War the school was
rebuild and in 1946 its name was changed to Arellano Memorial High School in honor of
the late Chief Justice Cayetano Arellano, who was a native of Orion,Bataan. Due to
confusion between Arellano High School of Manila and the Arellano Memorial High
School of Balanga, it was changed again to Arellano Memorial (Bataan) High School. And
in 1970 during the time of Mrs.Rizalina G. Joco, Principal the school became what is now
Bataan National High School.

In 2000, Dr. Simeona B. Emata returned as Principal IV of Bataan National High


School. Under his leadership she instituted several developments and beautifications of
the school. ICT Building was constructed in 2004 and followed by the SPA building in
2007. After her retirement in January 2014 as Principal he was succeeded by Mr
Armando C. Capili who was also promoted as Assistant Superintendent of the Division of
City of Balanga in 2017. Upon the promotion of Mr. Capili as ASDS Dr. Merlinda C.
Dominguez, who is a Supervisor for Mathematics serve as the OIC-Principal. She was
also the Department Head of Mathematics department before her promotion as
Supervisor. Today, Bataan National High School is recognized as one of the leading
public secondary schools in the region having been a recipients of several recognitions
both regionally and nationally.

VISION

Maging isang mabuting mamamayang Filipino, may kakayahang mabuhay na


marangal, may kahandaan para makapag-aral sa dalubhasaan o kolehiyo,
nakakaagapay sa pandaigdingang mga pagbabago, lalo na sa teknolohiya,
totoong pag-asa ng bayan at higit sa lahat may matibay na paniniwala sa
dakilang lumikha.

MISSION

Ang BNHS ay nakasentro sa pagkakaroon ng katuparan ng layunin ng edukasyon at


gawaing kultural na nakasaad sa saligang batas ng 1987 na nagsasaad – pag-ukulan
ng prioridad ang edukasyon at kultura upang mapalakas ang pangmakabayan at
nasyonalismo, mapabilis ang kaunlarang panlipunan at maitaguyod ang ganap na
paglaya at pag-unlad ng tao. Dahil ditto sisiskapin n ating paaralan na mahubog ang
mga mag-aaral sa nakagisnang mabuting kaugalian at higit na kaalaman sa teknolohiya
at agham upang makatulong sa ating bansa na makasabay sa pandaigdigang antas ng
kabuhayan.

FINANCIAL ANALYSIS
BNHS is an autonomous secondary school. A budget proposal is being prepared by the
accountant and is being submitted to the congress for approval. A yearly procurement of
supply is also being prepared based on the priority needs of the school. The salaries and
wages of teachers and employees are always given on time. The share of the school in
the cooperative and canteen are placed under the Trust Fund and are properly disbursed.
The PTA Fund is managed by the PTA.
