Course Descriptions:
An analytical and expository study of 1 and 2 Peter, 1, 2, and 3 John, James, and Jude, with
special emphasis given to their application to the practical Christian life and discussion of
various doctrinal themes related to Christology and Soteriology.
Class: B. Th. IV
Second Semester 2016-17
Course Goals:
A. To enable the student to understand and appreciate the importance of GENERAL
EPISTLES.
B. To enable the student to adopt the method of doctrinal defense found in these Epistles.
C. To help the student to interpret these books properly.
D. To enable the student to comprehend the significance and values of the different
messages found in these books.
E. To be able to critically learn and analyze passages difficult to interpret.
F. To enable the student to be an effective teacher of sound doctrine.
G. To enable the student to understand the power of God’s word and dependency on God
through regular reading of God’s word and prayer for God’s enablement in his life to
fulfill this call.
Course Grade:
A. Assignment 10%
B. Memory Verse 10%
C. Two exams 40% + 40%.

D. Written assignment last submission date.
If class is ever cancelled for any reason, the assignment that would have been due that
day will automatically be due the following class period.
