ACTIVITY PRE - 1. Recap previous lesson by asking pupils to name the seven days of the week in the correct
LESSON sequence.
2. Show flash cards to pupils.
3. Get pupils to talk about the pictures.
4. Point to each day and say, e.g. Monday. I go swimming.
5. Pupils listen and repeat.
6. Repeat steps for Tuesday until Sunday.
Activity 1:
A 1. Distribute task sheets and pictures.
LESSON
DELIVER 2. Read the names aloud so pupils know what they sound like.
Y 3. Play the recording.
4. Pupils listen carefully, choose and paste the corresponding pictures. (CD2 Track 20)
5. Answers are discussed together.
Activity 2:
1. Introduce target language to the pupils.
2. Play the first sentence. (CD 2 Audio 21)
3. Pupils listen carefully and repeat.
4. Check they understand that it is every Monday and that they say Mondays.
5. Play the second sentence.
6. Pupils listen and repeat.
7. Pupils practise in pairs.
POST - 1. Display picture cards and write the options for free time activities on the board.
LESSON 2. Demonstrate the activity first with one or two pupils.
3. High level: Pupils take turns to ask and answer about the different days of the week in groups.
4. Low level: Ask pupils. E.g. What do you do on Tuesdays? Guide them to answer the questions.
