A typical day starts off with me going he the volunteer room to sign in and get my apron. I
usually sign up for animal shelter care or morning cleaning crew. For animal shelter care I would go to
either cat house green or blue and see if there is any litter boxes that need to be changed or if the cat
made a mess and I need to clean the actual kennel. I would then try to refill or change out the cat’s food
and water if need and I would usually give treats throughout my entire time volunteering. I would then
let the cat out of its cage one by one to let them stretch their legs and allow them to get more humane
interaction. After doing all those things I would go walk around the humane society seeing if there is
any employee that needs help. For morning cleaning crew, I would go to either cat house and start
cleaning and preparing for the humane society to be open. I would full clean and wipe down each cat’s
kennel. I would also dump out all left-over food and water, clean the bowls and replace it with new food
and water. I would replace all the blanket and towels inside the kennel and final I would sweep the floor
and take the trash out of the trash can and replace the bag.
