Infancy – the state or period of early childhood or babyhood. An infant (from the Latin word infans, meaning
"unable to speak" or "speechless") is the more formal or specialized synonym for "baby", the very young
offspring of a human. The term may also be used to refer to juveniles of other organisms.
Initiative vs Guilt
Pre – School Age – This gives parents the option of two years of funded pre-school education before beginning
primary one, the first year of compulsory education. Nursery children who are three years old are referred to
as ante-pre-school whilst children who are four years old are termed pre-school.
Industry vs Inferiority
School Age – the age at which a child may or must begin to attend school; the years during which attendance
at school is required or customary
Generatively vs Stagnation
Adulthood – Human adulthood encompasses psychological adult development. Definitions of adulthood are
often inconsistent and contradictory; a person may be biologically an adult, and have adult behavior but still
be treated as a child if they are under the legal age of majority.
Ego Integrity vs Despair
Maturity – In psychology, maturity is the ability to respond to the environment in an appropriate manner.
Maturity also encompasses being aware of the correct time and place to behave and knowing when to act,
according to the circumstances and the culture of the society one lives in.
