Re: Instructor Ice Skating

I am applying for the positions of Ice Skating Instructor, as posted on the Oak
Bay Recreation Centre website, and have attached my resume for your
consideration.

I am currently attending the University of Victoria working towards a B.Sc.

degree in Kinesiology. I enjoy working with people of all ages and have a passion
for teaching. This passion in combination with my ice skating skills that
I have acquired through playing ice hockey for the past 14 years has allowed me
to share my skating knowledge to others. I was the assistant coach to the
Vancouver girl’s ice hockey team last year and was proud to be a mentor to
many young hockey players. In addition, I taught ice skating lessons through my
volunteer work with the Learn to Skate Program at local ice rinks in Vancouver.
Through my involvement with my secondary school's Physical Education
Department I have gained experience working with students in a variety of
sports setting. By teaching and coaching, I have acquired useful communication
skills that will enable me to excel as an ice skating instructor.
