The study on the radio interference from

+800kV Yun Guang UHVDC transmission line

Abstract--The radio interference is one of the important to 30MHz[3]-[5].

electro-magnetic environment parameters for UHV DC transmission As a factor to pollute environment, radio noise may be
line. This paper validates the radio interference calculating formula affect the reception of radio and television broadcasting , it
of DC transmission line recommended by CISPR though measured can not affect people health . There are f our factors may be
data from three 500kV DC transmission lines that have been built in considered if we analyses the influence about radio noise:
China. The radio interference from +800kV Yun Guang UHVDC noise level, minimum broadcast signal level to be protected,
transmission line with different types of conductors, height of Signal-to-Noise ratio, and distance from power line to
conductors above the ground ,and different space between anode broadcast reception point. The main factor is Signal-to-Noise
and cathode line is calculated using CISPR's formal. It is concluded ratio. The Signal-to-Noise ratio that recommended by
that the radio interference level of +800kV Yun Guang UHVDC International special committee on radio interference (CISPR)
transmission line should be limited in 55-58dB(Vi/m), and the is 26dB[6]. That means if ratio about radio noise from line
conductor section of line should be chosen 5x720 or more. and broadcast signal level is high 26dB, the radio noise can
not affect quality of broadcast reception.
