MARY IMMACULATE PARISH

(Established in 2003)

The original lot (10m X 10m) where the Chapel dedicated to San Isidro Labrador,
secondary patron of Salawag, was built in 1988 was generously donated by MR. PIO
PARAS SR for the promulgation of Roman Catholicism in Barangay Salawag, City of
Dasmariñas, Cavite, while materials and appurtenances were donated and given by
ENGR. ROMULO T. PARAS SR. Construction/installation were led and done by then
Barangay Chairman LEONARDO T. PARAS and some of his relatives. It was then
blessed and inaugurated by REV. FR. GEORGE MORALES, then Parish Priest of
Immaculate Concepcion Parish of the City of Dasmariñas during the year 1988.
In the year 2003, upon placing the community under the auspices of the
CONGREGATION OF THE SONS OF HOLY MARY IMMACULATE, the community was
placed under the patronage of MARIA INMACULADA DE SALAWAG, whose
miraculous image is enshrined in this Church. The Image, made in Paete (Laguna)
around the year 1987, was donated by MR. LEONARDO AND MRS. CARMEN PARAS.
Known be miraculous in her unfailing intercession for the healing of the sick,
guidance for the youth, and maternal assistance for the growth of religious and
priestly vocations in Salawag, received the honor of Diocesan Coronation that was
promulgated by MOST REV. REYNALDO G. EVANGELISTA, Bishop of Imus during the
Solemn Eucharistic Celebration in December 8, 2018.
The present Parish Church, was built and completed in the year 2004, and was
blessed and inaugurated by His Eminence, LUIS ANTONIO CARDINAL TAGLE, D.D.,
who was then the Bishop of Imus.
