PROCEDURE FOR TAKING EMERGENCY GENERATOR ON

LOAD BY SIMULATION
OPTION 1 :
1. Manually ‘Open’ the Emergency switch board ACB from ECR OR
Main switchboard (Bus Tie) ACB from ESBD in emergency gen. room.

EMERGENCY MAIN

2. From ESBD control panel ‘NO Voltage’ will be sensed and Emergency
generator will start and come on load automatically.
OPTION 2 :
3. Open the emergency switchboard panel in Emerg.Gen. room and put the
selector switch to “ENG & ACB’ Mode. MSB (Bus Tie ) will now be open
and ESBD busbar will sense ‘NO VOLTAGE’; On this Emergency generator
will start and come on load Automatically.
4. CHECK LOAD ON EMERG. GENERATOR.

TAKING OFF-LOAD:
For option 1 : Close the ACB(whichever was activated), Generator will be off-
laoded.
For option 2 : Put the selector switch to’NORMAL’ Mode, Generator will be off-
laoded.
NOTE:
Finally ensure that the ACB from ESBD and /OR MSB (Bus Tie) ( From wherever
the activation is done) must be closed.
Ensure ACB Spring is charged before closing.
