Good day! We, Ken Onil Acuesta and Amabelle Anne Badua, are undergraduate students from
Department of Civil Engineering at University of the Philippines Los Baños currently taking our
thesis this second semester of academic year 2018 - 2019. Our thesis, will be be focusing on
the INVESTIGATION ON THE COMPRESSIVE, TENSILE AND FLEXURAL STRENGTH OF
CONCRETE WITH SILICA SCALES AS PARTIAL CEMENT REPLACEMENT. The study aims
to reduce the wastes from geothermal powerplants by converting these wastes to useful cause
that is cement replacement and lessen the effect of cement production by use of such
geothermal wastes.

In this regard, we seek support by requesting from your good office a sample of the wastes from
your powerplant in Calauan, Laguna - MakBan Geothermal Powerplant.

As the researchers of this project, we promise to acknowledge the energy corporation and the
management of the powerplant from which the wastes are from. We will also be sending our
final paper to you for possible researches that you might be interested in.
