Facebook is a “social networking website”.

Facebook is a free service that allow you to create an online page to connect
with friends , family, or make new friends with anyone anywhere.

History
Facebook was founded in 2004 by Harvard student Mark Zuckerberg with
help from his roommates Dustin Moskovitz and Chris Hughes.

Facebook was originally for Harvard students then expanded to other colleges
then to anyone over the age of 18, and now currently to anyone 13 years of
age or older.

Interesting facts
 Mark Zuckerberg suffers from red-green colorblindness. This is why
Facebook’s primary color scheme is blue
 Facebook’s user base grows by eight people per second, or 7,246 people
every 15 minutes.
 Facebook earns an average of $5.85 for every Facebook user in the
United States and Canada.
 Every minute of downtime outage costs Facebook approximately
$24,420. The “prolonged” outage that lasted for 19 minutes in August
2014 cost the company almost $427,000
 Al Pacino, American actor was the first face of the facebook.
 4th February is celebrated as Friends Day so facebook was launched in
the celebration of friends day on 4th February 2004.
 If Facebook were a country, it would be the fifth-largest country in the
world, after China, India, the U.S., and Indonesia, just because of its
users.
 Syria, China, Vietnam, North Korea and Iran have banned Facebook.
