Thanksgiving Day

Thanksgiving Day is a unique initiative to recognize and appreciate the services rendered by the
house keeping staff of the college. It was organized on December 4, 2019 at Conference Hall,
Rajagiri Business School. Transcend Chief Mentor, Dr. Manoj Mathew and Professor Shirley Rita
Luiz distributed mementoes to the staff members.

CRAYONS

It is one of the flagship events of Rajagiri Transcend dedicated to the children living in foster
homes in and around Kochi. It is a day full of fun and frolic wherein children engage in a lot of
competitions such as drawing, painting, jig-saw puzzle, fancy dress, fashion show, dance and so
on.

This year, the seventh edition of the program was kicked off with an amazing launch on December
6, 2018 at RCBS Amphitheatre by Cine artist- Mr. Neeraj Madhav, singer- Amrutha Suresh and
child actor- Master Eric Zachariah. The other guests for the day included a group from the
Government Girls Home, Kakkanad. The theme selected for this year was “Live Your Dream” to
encourage the young minds to believe that the biggest adventure that one can take is to live the life
of one’s dreams.

The main event took place on January 12, 2019 at the Rajagiri Valley Campus. More than 400
children from 14 orphanages in Ernakulam District had participated. Mr. Siju Wilson, Cine artist,
who had risen to fame with his role in blockbuster films such as Premam and Happy Wedding was
the chief guest for the inauguration. Children were also asked to write down their dreams in a box
and a few selected ones were also fulfilled.

The closing ceremony was graced by the presence of big names in Malayalam movie industry-
Ms. Saniya Iyappan and Master Chettan Jayalal. Prizes and gift kits were distributed to all those
who had come.

All in all, Crayons 2019 was a grand success thanks to the perpetual efforts rendered by the core
team headed by Mr. Sebin Vincent (MBA 2017-19) and a team of 70 volunteers. The presence of
the alumni members was also a matter of great joy to everyone.
Christmas Celebration- ‘Home of Faith’

‘Home of Faith’ is a charitable trust run by Catholic nuns for the mentally challenged children. To
live out the real spirit of Christmas, Rajagiri Transcend organized a colourful celebration at the
orphanage. It was filled with carol, cake and of course Santa Claus. More than 40 volunteers took
part in the event to bring smile to these young faces.

Community Visit

A community visit was organized on February 21, 2019 to invite the children of Shikshagraha to
participate in Lanterns 2019. Around 30 students from both junior and senior batches went for the
invitation.

Lanterns 2019

This is one of the last milestone events in Rajagiri Transcend calendar to appreciate and honour
all the students who attend the weekly Shikshagraha training program. The children are provided
a platform to showcase their talents by means of various cultural programs and games set up by
the volunteers. It was organized on February 24, 2019 wherein around 48 children took part and
had a time of their lives.
