NARRATIVE REPORT
rd
3 Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill

“Prevention is better than Cure”

In times of calamities, we need to be prepared and we need to be unified.

On September 27, 2017, Dumalneg National High School participated in

rd
the 3 Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill which was
spearheaded by the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) and Philippine National
Police (PNP).

A loud alarm was made by the PNP and BFP to simulate the occurrence
of an earthquake within the school premises. During the alarm, the students
performed the maneuver duck, cover and hold to protect themselves from
falling debris.

Then after the alarm subsided, the teachers instructed the students to go
out from their rooms and went to the designated evacuation area in the school.
Teachers accounted their students per class and there were no reports for
injuries and casualties.

For the last part of the activity, some personnel from BFP and PNP
gave their final lecture by recalling the recent earthquake that struck Mexico
and some safety precautions that the students need to remember before, during
and after an earthquake. They emphasized that in every calamity, prevention is
better than cure that in every quarter, they must take the drill seriously.

The activity is not just a simple training but also aims to promote
preparedness in times of disaster and awareness about the know-how in survival
situations.

Attached herewith is the documentation of the said event at your perusal.
