Nature of business The Drainage Project for Environment Improvement in Hanoi was funded by the
Japanese Government through JBIC loan and implemented by the
Transportation and Urban Public Services’ Project Management Board as the
Employer and Nippon Koei Ltd., as the Consultant. This first stage project was

carried out during 1997 – 2005 with 14 contract packages, targeting to improve
environment and hygienic conditions through construction of drainage
sewers/canals and improvement of rivers and lakes in Hanoi city
