Setting (students, special circumstances, if any)

Grade 10, 3 classes of 24 students. No special circumstances.

Area/Topic to Be Addressed
The effect of flip classroom on the class.

Where I am Now
Still collecting data from classes. My intuition is that classes’ average improved, and there is less
students left behind.

Goal Statement (my desired results)

My goal is to see if dedicating more practice time in class will result to a better understanding of
the content. We should see better class averages, and improved median on similar test.

Activities I will Use to Accomplish My Goal

The lessons are recorded and then posted on YouTube. Students are assigned the video before
the class, so they know the content before coming in. Class time is dedicated to activities and
problems. Usually, after a small warm-up/review, the class time is separated into 3 sections:
- Group work, to create discussions on possible lack of understanding
- Pair work, when the student has a good idea of what to do, but can still ask questions if
needed
- Alone work, also used as exit ticket, students work individually to test their understanding.
