Understanding Vaccination  
OVERVIEW & PURPOSE 
The purpose of this lesson is to educate high school seniors on the importance of vaccination and 
to raise awareness of the vaccines that are required for college.  

LEARNING TARGETS 
1. Understand the importance of vaccines in public health.  
2. Learn what vaccines are required for college and where you can get vaccinated.  
3. Realize the seriousness of vaccine-preventable diseases.  
4. Learn where to find reliable information about vaccination.  
5. Understand how the media can negatively affect the perception of vaccines.
