Susquehanna University Prepares Students for Future with Etiquette Dinner

Selinsgrove, PA – On February 20, 2019, a select group of Susquehanna University


students had the privilege to dine in style at Pine Lawn, University President Jonathan
Green’s home. Co-hosted by the University’s Center for Academic Achievement and the
Public Relations Student Society of America, students dressed professionally to learn how
to properly eat and act in a professional setting.

Led by Public Relations professor Linda Burkley, students were able to enjoy a free four
course meal while learning more about proper manners and lessons fr om “Emily Post’s
Etiquette”. With courses including beef soup, salad, spaghetti and chicken parmesan and
chocolate cake, students were instructed on how to properly eat the various courses given
the variety of food given.

Both the Center for Academic Achievement and the Public Relations Student Society of
America at Susquehanna are committed to helping students strengthen their skills to
prepare them for their futures. Being a valuable resource to students, the Center for
Academic Achievement provides students with assistance in math, writing and language in
addition to time management, test preparation and organization. PRSSA prepares students
from all backgrounds for careers in the Public Relations field by working to hone their
skills and create portfolios to share at interviews and in their future endeavors.
