INTRODUCTION

Field Study 1 Observation of Teaching-Learning in Actual School

Environment is an integral component of teacher education programs
designed to provide prospective educators with hands-on experiences in real
classroom settings. It serves as an immersive introduction to the teaching
profession, allowing students to observe, participate, and reflect on the
dynamics of the classroom environment. Throughout the course of Field Study
1, student teachers actively participate in the daily occurrences of classrooms,
working closely with mentor teachers to navigate the complexities of
educational practice. The happenings in FS 1 are marked by a rich tapestry
of experiences, ranging from observing teaching methodologies and classroom
management techniques to interacting with a diverse array of students.

As a student teacher, I become an active observer, a silent participant

in the symphony of teaching and learning. The first day is a mixture of
excitement and curiosity, stepping into a world where lesson plans meet the
unpredictability of student engagement. I find myself at the crossroads of
theory and practice, where the intricacies of classroom dynamics unfold before
your eyes. Mentor teachers become my guiding stars, sharing their wealth of
experience and insights. I witness the art of effective classroom management,
the spontaneity of stude nt reactions, and the adaptability required to navigate
the unexpected. Each day brings a new lesson – not just in the subject matter,
but in the art of connecting with students, understanding their unique needs,
and fostering an environment conducive to learning. Through the lens of FS
1, I explore the diverse landscapes of education, from the challenges of
maintaining student focus to the triumphs of a breakthrough lesson. It's a
journey of self-discovery, as I grapple with my teaching style, learn to
improvise, and reflect on the subtle nuances that make a difference in the
educational experience. It's not just about imparting knowledge; it's about
being a source of inspiration, a mentor, and a guide. As the days unfold, you
find yourself growing not only as an aspiring educator but as a dynamic force
in the transformative landscape of education.

This initial field experience lays the foundation for future professional
growth, allowing future educators to bridge the gap between theory and
practice. Moreover, the field study experience is not only about what occurs
within the confines of the classroom but extends to broader aspects of school
culture, collaboration with fellow educators, and understanding the
intricacies of student diversity. As participants navigate these happenings,
they gain valuable insights that serve as building blocks for their professional
development, shaping their evolving identity as educators and laying the
groundwork for future success in the field of teaching. The Field Study 1
journey isn't just a chapter in a textbook; it's a living, breathing narrative of
what it means to be a part of the intricate world of teaching and learning.

BELIEFS ON
TEACHING AND
LEARNING
(PRE AND POST)
BELIEFS ON TEACHING AND LEARNING (PRE)

After the home, the school holds the second most significant influence
on students' behavior and potential for academic success. Classrooms serve
as the primary setting for learning and teaching activities, aiming to convey
the true essence of education to students.

The profession of educating students in a school is exclusive to licensed

professional teachers. This means that proper education is achieved through
the interconnected processes of teaching and learning, both of which are
indispensable for the school environment. The practice of teaching in schools
is not only a legal requirement but also necessitates consistent circumstances
for both teachers and students. Teaching and learning, being the fundamental
elements of education, remain unchanging processes. I recall that both
teachers and learners can derive benefits from the invaluable tools inherent
in teaching and learning. These tools serve to nourish minds and provide
solace to souls. This process is crucial for understanding and navigating life's
challenges more effectively, impacting both personal and professional
pursuits.

As a future educator, being effective and efficient is not an easy task. It

comes with a significant responsibility that demands patience, passion, and
love for the profession. As student teachers, we must carefully plan and
prepare our instructions. This involves learning instructional goals that suit
our students and creating lesson plans that demonstrate our understanding
of the content. In the role of a student teacher, I've come to realize the
importance of managing classroom procedures and student behavior. It's
crucial to organize the classroom and resources in ways that prioritize both
safety and learning. Additionally, we are expected to actively engage students
in learning content through various activities, assignments, groupings,
materials, and pacing. Providing constructive feedback to students is also part
of our responsibilities.
BELIEFS ON TEACHING AND LEARNING (POST)

Learning isn't consistently enjoyable, and teaching is a challenging

task. Both involve difficulties and aren't always engaging. The role of a teacher
is far from easy, and students may not always exhibit enthusiasm for
studying, especially given the recent pandemic that has altered the teaching
and learning landscape, impacting children's educational experiences.

During my field study interviews with my cooperating teacher, I

observed challenges in student comprehension. According to my cooperating
teacher, students face difficulty understanding lessons due to a sense of
entitlement and lack of attention. This issue is particularly notable among
grade 7 students, whose cognitive abilities align more with primary-level
comprehension. The impact is heightened by the disruptions caused by the
epidemic. As a future educator, I've come to realize that the teaching and
learning processes don't necessarily have to be daunting. The act of imparting
various subjects, ideas, concepts, skills, and knowledge shouldn't always be
a challenge, instead, it should be enjoyable and mark the beginning of a
lifelong journey. It's crucial for students to use the learning process as a tool
to simplify complex concepts, making education more accessible. In this
context, the teacher plays a vital role by selecting lessons suitable for the
entire class, considering that students' interests evolve over time. To address
this, teachers plan differentiated teaching strategies before each class session,
integrating them into the curriculum. Just as learners' learning styles are
assessed, teachers' teaching styles are also taken into account. The evaluation
process involves the school's head assessing teachers' teaching methods,
while teachers, in turn, evaluate students' learning. This is the only difference.
Both teachers and students engage in a continuous cycle of questioning,
answering, assessment, and evaluation throughout the teaching and learning
process. Teaching and learning emerge as crucial life processes, serving as the
foundations of development. To attain significant behavioral changes, both of
these techniques must be employed. Furthermore, I believe that teaching and
learning, despite having distinct pedagogical approaches and theoretical
frameworks, stand on an equal footing.

In conclusion, my beliefs about teaching and learning are grounded in

the aspiration to contribute valuable education to the community. I am
convinced that if students effectively learn and acquire essential knowledge
and skills through these processes, they will be equipped to address problems
that impact both themselves and the larger communities. Consequently,
teaching and learning should embrace personalized and practical teaching
strategies, empowering students to effectively tackle their own challenges and
those of their communities.

October 23, 2023

On October 23, 2024, the day marked the commencement of our out-
campus observation as student teachers. The journey began with an early
start at 4:30 in the morning, as I prepared myself for the day ahead. By 6:50
AM, I arrived at San Isidro National High School, the venue of our out-campus
observation. The atmosphere was charged with anticipation as my co-student
teachers, along with our OIC Education Program Head, were already present.
In total, 31 student teachers were assigned to various classes at the school.
The day kicked off with the flag-raising ceremony at 7:00 AM. Notably, student
teachers from St. Rita joined us during this sole mn event. Following the flag-
raising, there was an awarding of certificates for those who had participated
in the joint BSP and GSP jamboree held at Mambayaan Integrated School.
After the certificate ceremony, all student teachers were summoned to the
principal's office for important announcements. It was during this meeting
that I learned I was assigned to Mrs. Maribel A. Camano, a Grade 7
Mathematics teacher, as my cooperating teacher. Upon meeting our
cooperating teacher, Mrs. Camano, she briefed us on the day's plan and left
the class with a pre -prepared activity as she had a meeting to attend. Taking
advantage of this free time, we sought permission to roam around the campus
to familiarize ourselves with the environment. In the latter part of the morning,
we had a brief orientation session with Mrs. Camano. During this time, we
discussed our observation schedule and clarified queries related to our field
study books.

In the afternoon, from 1:00 to 2:00 PM, we began our classroom

observations in the subject of ESP (Edukasyon sa Pagpapakatao). The
students were engaged in a performance task where they showcased their
talents through singing, dancing, acting, or reciting poetry. Our role extended
to judging their performances, adding an interactive dimension to our
observation. Moving to the second period, we observed a mathematics class.
The students were in the midst of a review session, preparing for an upcoming
examination on Thursday and Friday. The topic under review was operations
of fractions, specifically focusing on adding and subtracting fractions. The
teacher employed a point-based strategy, awarding points to students who
successfully answered questions during the review. In summary, the first day
of out-campus observation was both informative and engaging, providing
valuable insights into the dynamics of the classroom and the teaching
strategies employed by educators at San Isidro National High School.
October 24, 2023

On the 24th of October, 2023, the second day of our out-campus

observation unfolded at San Isidro National High School. Eager to delve deeper
into the teaching environment, I arrived at the school promptly at 6:58 in the
morning. As I entered the school premises, the bustling energy of students
preparing for the day caught my attention. The atmosphere was one of
organized chaos, with students cleaning their classrooms under the
instruction of their teachers. At 7:29 AM, the official start of the day's classes,
the students settled into their seats. Before diving into the academic agenda,
a moment of solemnity prevailed as the entire class participated in a Holy
Rosary prayer. This spiritual prelude set a serene tone for the upcoming
lessons. Following the Holy Rosary, our cooperating teacher (CT) facilitated a
brief interlude for us, the student teachers, to focus on our Field Study (FS)
books. Seizing this opportunity, we moved to our designated barracks to
conscientiously answer and complete our FS books. The process of answering
the FS books allowed us to reflect on our observations and experiences,
connecting theoretical knowledge with the practical aspects of teaching and
classroom management. This exercise not only deepened our understanding
of the teaching profession but also served as a valuable tool for self-
assessment and improvement. The second day of out-campus observation,
characterized by a blend of routine classroom activities, spiritual grounding,
and dedicated time for reflection, contributed significantly to our overall
learning experience. It provided a holistic view of the daily life and
responsibilities of educators at San Isidro National High School, enhancing
our understanding of the multifaceted nature of teaching.
October 25, 2023

On October 25, 2023, the third day of our out-campus observation

unfolded, marking another enriching chapter in our teaching journey at San
Isidro National High School. Anticipating a day of active classroom
engagement, I arrived at the school punctually at 6:58 in the morning. Upon
entering our assigned classroom, we immediately set the tone for the day by
instructing the students to engage in the customary practice of cleaning their
learning space. This routine not only fostered a sense of responsibility among
the students but also created a conducive environment for the day's
educational activities. The first subject of the day was Mathematics in the St.
Lorenzo Ruiz section. Our cooperating teacher, continuing the trend of
interactive teaching, commenced the class by reviewing the lesson in
preparation for an upcoming examination. To infuse an element of excitement
into the review, she introduced a strategic game called "Pera o Bayong." The
game comprised three rounds, each designed to have a distinct winner. The
game not only served as a review mechanism but also added an element of
fun and competition to the learning process. Following the game, the teacher
allowed the students to choose between "Pera" (money) or "Folder," introducing
an intriguing twist to the activity. Moving on to the second period, we
transitioned to the St. Vincent section, where our cooperating teacher
seamlessly implemented the same strategic game approach, ensuring that the
review process remained dynamic and engaging for the students.

In the afternoon session, we moved to the St. Michael section for our
first subject in the afternoon. Here, our cooperating teacher dedicated the
entire two-hour period to a comprehensive review of the previous lessons in
the subject of ESP (Edukasyon sa Pagpapakatao). This day's observation
provided a firsthand experience of the creativity and innovation employed by
educators in making learning not only informative but also enjoyable for their
students. The strategic game "Pera o Bayong" served as a testament to the
importance of incorporating interactive elements into the teaching process,
fostering a dynamic and participative learning environment.
October 26, 2023

On the 26th of October, 2023, the fourth day of our out-campus

observation commenced with a sense of purpose as I arrived at San Isidro
National High School promptly at 7:00 in the morning. The day held a unique
significance, as it marked the initiation of the students' first day of
examinations. Entering our assigned classroom, we directed the students to
engage in the customary practice of cleaning their learning environment. The
atmosphere buzzed with a blend of anticipation and nervous energy, as the
students prepared for their impending examinations. At 8:00 in the morning,
the examination officially commenced. As the designated student teachers,
our responsibility included distributing the test papers to the diligent students
who had been engrossed in last-minute reviews and preparations. The room
echoed with the rustle of papers and focused whispers as the students geared
up for the challenging assessments. Seated at the back of the classroom, our
role transitioned into silent observers. With a watchful eye, we monitored the
students during their examinations, ensuring a quiet and conducive
atmosphere for them to demonstrate their understanding of the subject
matter. The examination stretched throughout the day, requiring sustained
concentration and effort from both the students and the supervising teachers.

As the afternoon descended, we assumed the task of collecting and

checking the test papers for the subject of Mathematics. This process provided
valuable insights into the students' grasp of the material and allowed us to
witness firsthand the fruits of their academic endeavors. The day concluded
with a palpable sense of accomplishment, not only for the students who
navigated through a day of examinations but also for us, the student teachers,
who played a supportive role in facilitating the smooth conduct of the
assessments. In retrospect, the fourth day of outcampus observation provided
a unique perspective on the examination process, allowing us to witness the
dedication and diligence of students as they demonstrated their knowledge
and understanding in a formal testing setting. It underscored the integral role
of educators in fostering an environment conducive to effective and fair
assessments.
October 26, 2023

Today marked the fifth day of our out-campus observation at San Isidro
National High School. The day unfolded with a mix of academic assessments,
unexpected health concerns, and a culminating afternoon activity. I arrived at
the school at 6:58 in the morning, ready for another day of engagement. Upon
reaching our assigned classroom, we immediately instructed the students to
clean their surroundings as part of the daily routine. The day held a unique
challenge as it was the second day of their examinations, scheduled to
commence at 8:00 in the morning. The students were visibly absorbed in
studying and reviewing for their tests, demonstrating their dedication to
academic excellence. However, a concerning moment arose when one student
began experiencing health issues. He complained of headaches and, shortly
after, fainted. Reacting promptly, our cooperating teacher rushed him to the
hospital due to difficulties in breathing. In her absence, we took on the
responsibility of facilitating the ongoing examinations. The wait for our
cooperating teacher's return was filled with worry, but our concerns subsided
when we received the reassuring news that the student was okay. The
examinations, which comprised the morning session, concluded as a half-day
activity.

In the afternoon, the students participated in the culmination activity

of the Holy Rosary Month and the AP (Araling Panlipunan) Culmination Day.
The highlight of the Holy Rosary Month activity was a living rosary, with
students representing each bead. Following the rosary, the program
transitioned to the AP Culmination Day. While the program unfolded, we took
the opportunity to check some test papers of the students, ensuring a balance
between administrative tasks and active engagement in the school activities.
As the culmination program concluded, the students headed home, marking
the end of the day's events. The day served as a reminder of the
unpredictability inherent in the role of student teachers, balancing academic
responsibilities with unexpected health concerns and culminating activities
that contribute to the vibrant school atmosphere.
November 6, 2023

Today marks the second week of our out-campus observation, and it's
the sixth day of our immersive experience at San Isidro National High School.
I arrived at the school gates promptly at 6:47 in the morning, ready for another
day of learning and engagement. Following our usual morning routine, we
directed the students to clean their classroom before the commencement of
the flag raising ceremony. The school grounds buzzed with activity as students
diligently prepared their learning environment. At exactly 7:15 in the morning,
the flag raising ceremony began. It was our duty to guide the students to their
assigned areas for the ceremony, fostering a sense of discipline and unity
among them. Post-flag raising, the principal addressed the students,
delivering essential announcements and reminders. A subsequent
announcement by Mr. Lou Brian Valerio signaled the upcoming taking of ID
pictures. Once the formalities concluded, students proceeded to their
designated classrooms for the day's lessons. In the first period, our
cooperating teacher distributed the test papers from the previous assessment.
Students earnestly evaluated their scores, a reflective exercise guided by our
CT. With the assessments behind them, our CT seamlessly transitioned into
the commencement of her second quarter lesson. The routine continued in
the second period as we moved to St. Vincent, where the same procedure of
test paper return and lesson initiation unfolded.

As the afternoon session commenced, I found myself tasked with a

unique responsibility. Our cooperating teacher entrusted me with the role of
being the trainer for the mass dance presentation in the first subject.
Recognizing the importance of practice, we dedicated the time from 1:00 to
2:00 for a rehearsal, taking advantage of the students' free time. Post-
rehearsal, our CT graciously allowed us to rest, acknowledging the
significance of balancing work and relaxation. The day's events provided a
comprehensive view of the school's daily operations, from academic activities
to extracurricular preparations, reflecting the vibrant and dynamic nature of
our out-campus observation.
November 7, 2023

Today marks our seventh day of observation at San Isidro National High
School. I arrived at the school gates punctually at 6:58 in the morning, ready
to embark on another day of valuable experiences. Following our regular
morning routine, we directed the students to clean their classroom, fostering
a sense of responsibility among them. Since it was a Tuesday, our focus
shifted to answering our Field Study (FS) books. After giving instructions, we
retreated to our barracks to delve into the task at hand. Today held a unique
twist as the school was abuzz with excitement for the upcoming dance contest
called "Sayaw Galaw," a crucial part of their district meet. Some student
teachers from SPCMOI, including us, took on the role of assessors for the
dance performances. Our task involved evaluating everything from the props
to the makeup of the participants. One of our fellow student teachers took on
the important role of being the videographer for the dance presentation
contest. The entire morning was dedicated to meticulously assessing the
"Sayaw Galaw" dancers, ensuring a comprehensive video presentation
capturing every detail of their performance.

As the afternoon approached, our cooperating teacher reminded me

about our scheduled dance practice. At 1 pm, we commenced our practice
session for the upcoming dance presentation, fine-tuning our moves for the
performance. The practice session allowed us to synchronize our steps and
perfect the presentation. After the rigorous practice, our cooperating teacher
graciously allowed us to rest for the remainder of the afternoon. The day's
events highlighted the school's vibrant extracurricular activities, showcasing
not only academic pursuits but also the creative and energetic spirit of the
students in their pursuit of excellence in various fields.
November 8, 2023

Today marked our eight day of observation at San Isidro National High
School, and the day unfolded with a mix of routine and unexpected events. I
arrived at the school promptly at 6:50 in the morning, ready for another day
of learning and engagement. As part of our usual morning routine, we
instructed the students to clean their classroom, instilling a sense of order
and responsibility. However, today took an unexpected turn when our
cooperating teacher decided to forego the regular class and instead allowed
the students to practice their dance routine. This decision aimed to familiarize
them with the steps and timing of the music for the upcoming dance contest.
Utilizing the entire morning, various subject teachers joined forces to facilitate
the dance practice. The atmosphere buzzed with energy as students dedicated
their time to perfecting their dance routine.

In the afternoon, a recurring concern resurfaced when one of our

students fainted again—the same student who had experienced a similar
incident last week on Friday. Acting swiftly, our cooperating teacher rushed
him to the hospital as he remained unconscious. In her absence, we were
entrusted with the task of watching over the students. During the students'
last period in the afternoon, which was designated as vacant time, we seized
the opportunity to continue practicing until 4 pm. After the practice session,
we directed the students to clean their classroom before leaving, adhering to
the discipline of maintaining a tidy learning environment. As our cooperating
teacher had not returned, we patiently waited for her to come back from the
hospital before concluding our day. Upon her arrival, she shared updates on
Jerald's condition. In light of his health concerns, she made the decision not
to allow him to participate in the upcoming dance contest. With the day's
events weighing on our minds, we went straight home, reflecting on the
unexpected challenges and responsibilities that unfolded during our seventh
day of observation. The day served as a reminder of the unpredictable nature
of our roles as student teachers and the importance of adaptability in
navigating unforeseen circumstances.
November 9, 2023

Today marked our ninth day of observation at San Isidro National High
School, bringing with it a continuation of our journey. I arrived at the school
gates promptly at 6:50 in the morning, prepared for another day of
engagement and activities. As per our routine, we instructed the students to
undertake the morning cleaning of their classroom, fostering a sense of
responsibility among them. With the classroom in order, we found a window
of opportunity during the morning's extensive vacant time to focus on
practicing their dance presentation for the upcoming contest. However, at
9:00 in the morning, an unexpected turn of events interrupted our practice
session—an earthquake drill. Responding to the simulated emergency, we
followed the prescribed safety measures. Once the drill concluded, we swiftly
returned to our primary focus—practicing the dance presentation for the
remainder of the morning.

In the afternoon, the students continued to have a vacant period,

extending until 3:00. Seizing this opportunity, we dedicated the afternoon
session to further refine and perfect their dance routine. The extended practice
not only allowed the students to become more familiar with the steps and
synchronization but also contributed to building their confidence for the
upcoming competition. The day's events highlighted the importance of
flexibility and adaptability in the teaching environment. Balancing unexpected
disruptions, like the earthquake drill, with the ongoing commitment to
preparations for the dance contest, underscored the dynamic nature of our
role as student teachers. As we wrapped up the day, the progress made in the
dance practice became a testament to the resilience and dedication of both
the students and the teaching team.
November 10, 2023

Today marked our tenth day of observation at San Isidro National High
School, and the day brought a blend of routine tasks and unexpected
responsibilities. I arrived at the school punctually at 6:50 in the morning,
ready for another day of active participation. Following our customary
morning routine, we instructed the students to clean their classroom,
fostering a sense of order and shared responsibility. In their first period of
class, our cooperating teacher opted for a practice session for the students,
focusing on their upcoming activities. The second period brought a moment
of respite as our cooperating teacher allowed us to rest briefly. However, the
day took an unexpected turn when Mr. Lou Brian Valerio approached me. He
requested that I facilitate his class while he attended a meeting, providing
clear instructions on the tasks at hand. In Mr. Valerio's absence, I guided the
students through the provided answer sheets, which were to be followed by
an oral exam on the parts of the microscope. Facilitating the oral exam
required me to ensure a smooth and fair process for the students.

The entire afternoon was dedicated to our dance practice, aligning with
the ongoing preparations for the upcoming contest. The extensive practice
allowed the students to refine their performance, ensuring they were well-
prepared for the upcoming event. As the day drew to a close, the range of
responsibilities and unexpected tasks provided a valuable learning
experience. Balancing classroom facilitation, oral exams, and dance practice
showcased the dynamic nature of our roles as student teachers. The day's
events further underscored the importance of adaptability and effective
communication in navigating diverse responsibilities within the school setting.
November 13, 2023

Today marked the beginning of our third and final week of out-campus
observation at San Isidro National High School, and it was our eleventh day
in this immersive experience. The day unfolded with a mix of routines,
announcements, and a unique teaching responsibility. I arrived at the school
grounds at 6:40 in the morning, ready to engage in the day's activities.
Following our usual morning routine, we directed the students to clean their
classrooms, fostering a sense of order and responsibility. The day commenced
with the flag raising ceremony, beginning promptly at 7:15 AM. Guiding the
students to their designated areas, we witnessed a captivating performance as
the galaw dancers led the Sayaw Galaw Pilipinas Dance. Post-flag raising, Mrs.
Dagaang took the stage to announce and congratulate the students who
excelled and participated in the District Meet held on Saturday, November 11,
2023. Excitement filled the air as qualifiers for the national meet in basketball,
chess, billiards, table tennis, and badminton were also acknowledged. Another
announcement followed, as Mrs. Ilajas shared details about the opening of the
National Reading Month, carrying the theme "Pagbasa Pag-asa ng Matatag na
Kinabukasan." With these announcements concluded, students proceeded to
their designated classrooms. However, our cooperating teacher, having an
urgent commitment, was unable to attend school. In her absence, we were
entrusted with the responsibility of teaching the students a new topic in
math—customary units of length. Throughout the morning, we delved into
this topic in various sections, namely St. Lorenzo Ruiz, St. Vincent, St.
Raphael, and St. Michael.

The afternoon session was dedicated to dance practices, allowing the

students to refine their routines further. The day's e vents showcased the
vibrant school culture, from celebrations of achievements to engaging in the
teaching process. As we wrapped up the day, it marked a significant point in
our out-campus observation journey, blending academic engagement with the
school's dynamic extracurricular activities.
November 14, 2023

Today marked the commencement of our third week in the out-campus

observation program at San Isidro National High School. It was our twelfth
day of observation, and the day unfolded with a blend of academic
assessments and continued preparations for upcoming activities. I arrived at
the school at 6:40 in the morning, eager for another day of learning and
engagement. Following our familiar morning routine, we directed the students
to clean their classrooms, instilling a sense of responsibility among them. For
the first period of the day, we observed the mathematics class. As the students

REFLECTION
October 23, 2023
The first day of our outcampus observation marked a significant step
in my journey as a student teacher. From the early morning preparations to
the engaging classroom experiences, the day unfolded with a mix of
anticipation, learning, and hands-on involvement.

Arriving at San Isidro National High School at 6:50 AM, the atmosphere
was already buzzing with excitement as fellow student teachers and our OIC
Education Program Head gathered. The flag-raising ceremony at 7:00 AM set
a solemn tone, and the presence of student teachers from St. Rita added a
sense of community to the event. The subsequent awarding of certificates for
the joint BSP and GSP jamboree highlighted the collaborative spirit among the
student teachers.

The pivotal moment came during the meeting in the principal's office, where I
discovered I would be working with Mrs. Maribel A. Camano, a Grade 7
Mathematics teacher. The initial briefing with Mrs. Camano provided a
glimpse into the day's plan, and the pre-prepared activity allowed us to explore
the campus, getting acquainted with the school environment.

The afternoon brought a shift to classroom observations in ESP and

Mathematics. The performance task in the ESP class, where students
showcased their talents, added an interactive dimension to our role as
observers. Judging their performances not only made us part of the learning
process but also provided insights into the diverse teaching methods
employed.

in morning preparations created an atmosphere of organized chaos, signaling
the beginning of another day of learning.

The day commenced with a sense of order as students settled i nto their
classrooms at 7:29 AM, but what followed was a moment of unexpected
serenity. The entire class participated in a Holy Rosary prayer, setting a
spiritual tone that transcended the conventional classroom experience. This
unexpected interlude highlighted the importance of fostering a holistic
learning environment that goes beyond academic pursuits.

Following the spiritual prelude, our cooperating teacher provided a

dedicated space for reflection. In our designated barracks, we delved into our
Field Study (FS) books, meticulously recording our observations and
experiences. This reflective exercise proved to be a pivotal bridge between
theoretical knowledge and the practical intricacies of teaching and classroom
management. It allowed us, as student teachers, to connect the dots,
deepening our comprehension of the teaching profession.

The significance of this reflective process went beyond mere academic

exercise; it became a tool for self-assessment and improvement. As we
analyzed our observations, we gained valuable insights into our strengths and
areas for development. This introspective journey contributed to our
professional growth, emphasizing the transformative power of thoughtful
reflection.

The blend of routine classroom activities, spiritual grounding through

the Holy Rosary, and dedicated time for reflection created a well -rounded
learning experience. The day provided a holistic view of the daily life and

The out-campus observation at San Isidro National High School on

October 25, 2023, was a vivid portrayal of the dynamic and engaging teaching
strategies employed by educators to enhance the learning experience for
students. As I reflect on the day, several key insights emerge.

Firstly, the emphasis on responsibility was evident from the outset as

students were directed to clean their learning space. This simple yet effective
routine not only instilled a sense of duty among the students but also
contributed to the creation of a conducive environment for the day's
educational activities. It reinforced the idea that a well -maintained and
organized learning space can positively impact the overall learning
atmosphere

The incorporation of the strategic game "Pera o Bayong" into the

Mathematics classes brought an element of e xcitement and competition to the
review process. This innovative approach not only served as a comprehensive
review mechanism but also highlighted the importance of making learning
enjoyable. The game not only engaged the students but also demonstrated
that interactive elements can be seamlessly integrated into the teaching
process to foster a dynamic and participative learning environment.

The observation in the St. Michael section further underscored the

creativity of educators. Devoting an entire two-hour period to a comprehensive
review of the previous lessons in ESP showcased a commitment to ensuring a
thorough understanding of the subject matter. This approach not only
demonstrated the teacher's dedication but also emphasized the importance of
revisiting and reinforcing key concepts.

In essence, the day's experience reaffirms the idea that effective

teaching goes beyond traditional methods. It involves creating an environment
that encourages student participation, responsibility, and enjoyment in the
learning process. The strategic use of interactive elements, such as the "Pera
o Bayong" game, serves as a testament to the positive impact such methods
can have on student engagement and comprehension. As educators, we must
continually seek innovative ways to make learning a dynamic and enriching
experience for our students.

matters like ID pictures seamlessly blending with the academic focus.

The classroom became a stage for a dual act—first, the distribution of

assessed papers, a moment of reflection for students guided by our
cooperating teacher. This segued seamlessly into the commencement of new

The focus of the day shifted with the turn of Tuesday, as we delved into
our Field Study (FS) books. The intellectual engagement of answering the FS
books became a collective endeavor as we retreated to our barracks. However,
the day took an unexpected turn with the school's palpable excitement for the
"Sayaw Galaw" dance contest, an integral part of their district meet.

Participating as assessors for the dance performances, we found

cascade of routine and unexpected events, offering valuable insights into the
dynamic nature of our roles as student teachers. As I stepped into the school
at 6:50 in the morning, there was a sense of anticipation for another day of
learning and engagement. Our routine began with instilling a sense of order
and responsibility in the students through the customary classroom
cleaning—an essential practice that promotes a conducive learning
environment.

However, the day swiftly took an unexpected turn when our cooperating
teacher decided to deviate from the regular class schedule. Instead, she
allowed the students to immerse themselves in a dance routine, a decision
aimed at preparing them for an upcoming dance contest. This impromptu
change not only showcased the flexibility required in our roles but also
revealed the collaborative spirit among subject teachers, who united to
facilitate the dance practice. The energy in the room was palpable as students
dedicated their time to perfecting their dance routine.

The afternoon, though, reintroduced a recurring concern when a

student fainted—the same student who had experienced a similar incident the
previous week. The urgency of the situation became apparent as our
cooperating teacher promptly rushed him to the hospital. In her absence, we
were entrusted with the responsibility of overseeing the remaining students.
Despite this unexpected challenge, we seized the opportunity during vacant
time to continue the dance practice until 4 pm, reinforcing the commitment
to the students' growth and development.

The day's events took a more serious turn with the recurrence of the
student's health issue. The decision not to allow him to participate in the
upcoming dance contest, made in consideration of his well -being, added a
layer of emotional weight to the day. As we waited for our cooperating teacher's
return, we couldn't help but reflect on the unpredictability inherent in our
roles. The sudden shift from routine to the unforeseen underscored the

in the teaching environment.

The day began with a familiar routine of engaging the students in the
morning cleaning of their classroom, instilling a sense of responsibility among
them. This consistent practice sets the tone for a productive day. However, at
9:00 in the morning, an unforeseen earthquake drill disrupted our planned
dance practice session. This unexpected turn of events required us to swiftly
shift our focus to ensuring the safety of the students, showcasing the need for
flexibility in the face of unforeseen circumstances.

Once the drill concluded, we seamlessly transitioned back to our

primary goal—practicing the dance presentation for an upcoming contest.
This ability to adapt to disruptions while maintaining our commitment to the
students' development highlighted the dynamic nature of our role. The
morning's events taught us that in the teaching profession, being prepared for
the unexpected is just as crucial as planning for the expected.

The afternoon provided another window of opportunity as the students had

an extended vacant period until 3:00. Leveraging this time, we dedicated the
afternoon session to refining and perfecting their dance routine. The extended
practice not only enhanced their familiarity with the steps and
synchronization but also contributed significantly to building their confidence
for the impending competition.

Reflecting on the day, it is evident that the success of our teaching

endeavors hinges on our ability to navigate unforeseen disruptions with grace
and efficiency. The earthquake drill served as a reminder that, in our role, we
must be ready to pivot and adapt at a moment's notice. The resilience and
dedication displayed by both the students and the teaching team in
overcoming these challenges became apparent as we wrapped up the day with
tangible progress in the dance practice.

In conclusion, today's experiences underscored the importance of being

classroom not only instilled a sense of order but also underscored the
importance of collective efforts in maintaining a conducive learning

to engage actively with the students, focusing on their upcoming activities.

Unexpectedly, the day took a different trajectory when Mr. Lou Brian
Valerio entrusted me with facilitating his class during his abs ence. This
unanticipated responsibility required quick thinking and effective
communication to ensure a smooth transition. Guiding the students through
an oral exam on the parts of the microscope demanded not only knowledge
but also a fair and considerate approach.

me eager and motivated for the remaining weeks of our out-campus
observation program.

As the sun set on the final day of our out-campus observation at San
Isidro National High School, I found myself immersed in a reflection of the
day's events. Today wasn't just a culmination of our third week; it was a
tapestry woven with threads of formal programs, unexpected gestures, and
heartfelt connections.

Arriving at the school early in the morning, I sensed an air of

anticipation as parents gathered, ready to witness the unfolding events. The
State of the School's Address set the stage for the day, emphasizing the
importance of our roles as student teachers in ensuring the smooth flow of
the program. Guiding parents to the attendance area became our
responsibility, a task that allowed us to contribute to the overall success of
the day.

Amidst the structured proceedings, I found a way to keep the students

engaged and settled inside the classrooms. Allowing them to watch a movie
not only created a calm atmosphere but also added a touch of normalcy to the
day's events. The success of the program marked the transition to lunchtime,
a moment of relief and camaraderie among the students.

The afternoon, however, held unexpected surprises that touched the

depths of my heart. The genuine gesture from both students and cooperating
teachers, manifested through a cake and a gift, filled me with a profound sense
of fulfillment. In that moment, I realized the impact I had as a student teacher,
serving as a positive influence on those around me.

The joyous round of picture-taking that followed encapsulated the

memories we forged during our time together. These snapshots were not just
visual mementos but tangible reminders of the connections and experiences
shared within the school community. The day continued with a mass,
fostering unity and emphasizing the significance of our shared journey.

As the day drew to a close, the bittersweet moment of bidding farewell

arrived. Expressing gratitude and fond farewells to the students, and
particularly to my cooperating teacher, Mrs. Maribel Camaño, became a
poignant acknowledgment of the relationships formed during our out-campus
observation.

Today was more than just a conclusion; it was a celebration. A

celebration of the bonds we forged, the lessons we learned, and the growth we
experienced. Each element of the day, from the structured programs to the
heartfelt surprises, contributed to a rich tapestry of memories that will forever
be etched in my journey as a student teacher.
