Working in 30+ countries globally, Conservation International (CI) Foundation is a non-profit organization
committed to empowering societies to responsibly and sustainably care for nature for the good of humanity.
We are constantly growing and expanding into areas new and old. We are currently looking to fill the
following position for our office in FakFak, Papua Barat:
Communication Management;
• Coordinating evaluation, development, implementation and result monitoring of sustainable intervention
strategy including communication strategy to ensure objectives are met and based on scientifically
acknowledged triggers for behaviour change;
• Organize planning and monitoring the use of communication resources to optimize its use;
• Systemizing media monitoring and manage publication materials related to footages and other
communication materials;
• Maintaining and continually developing contact list of journalists or media (print, TV, radio, web, photo
etc.);
• To support Fakfak Marine Protecting Area (MPA) Project implementation including preparation of activities,
schedules, field activities, meetings, events, data analysis, and reporting.
Qualifications:
(critical to successful job performance. Applicants not meeting required skills may not be hired)
• Min. Bachelors level degree or certificate in Social Behaviour Change, Communication, journalism or
another relevant field required;
• Min. 3 years practical experience with a development organization, managing BCC projects in fragile
operating environments
• Able to identify areas where the BCC program may not have the desired impact,
• Strong critical analysis, persuasive and advocacy skills to engage and work with effective approaches in
multi stakeholder audience;
• Demonstrate working with media especially with news placement
• Good interpersonal skills and willing to travel to remote area;
• Excellent writing and editing skills in both Bahasa Indonesia and English
• Ability to work in a team and work independently
• Experience in using relevant communication software to create persuasive communication materials
Preferred
• Familiar with Open Standard for Conservation
• Good knowledge / understanding of local cultural setting in Papua
• Good understanding of the household livelihood security framework.
• Open in learning and implementing new approaches and method
