Extracurricular Experience

Describe the activities you have participated in. These might include sports, ASB, clubs, theater,
church groups, or other organized activities outside of regular school hours.
I played on the Cloverdale High School Soccer Team.

On average, how many hours do you dedicate to your extracurricular life each week or month?
I spent 2 hours at practice for 3 days, then around 3 more hours for the days I played games. In
total it was at least 10 hours a week.

Have you enjoyed your extracurricular experiences so far? Why or why not?
I did enjoy playing soccer, this was my first year playing and I’m really happy I decided to play.
I’m happy I played because it allowed me to connect with my friends who played.

What kinds of soft skills, academic skills, and/or specialized training have you needed to use to
participate fully in these experiences?
The major soft skills I use are Teamwork and Collaboration, and Communication skills. The
main goal in soccer is to work as a team which makes teamwork the most important skill.

How might these skills be used in a career or college environment?

Teamwork and Collaboration are in a work and school environment, because you must be able to
know what you are supposed to do at your job to complete your work.

What have learned about yourself so far by participating in extracurricular activities?

I learned that I like working on a team towards a common goal. Being able to do activities with
my friends was also one of my favorite experiences.
