Teachers’ Appreciation Day - “Guru Vandana”

Dear

Teachers (Gurus) are held in high esteem in Hindu culture and the word “Guru” is always
expressed with reverence and love. As one who imparts knowledge, a remover of ignorance, the
Guru is an integral part of a Hindu student’s life, next only to his or her parents.

Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh is a socio-cultural organization whose aim is to develop selfless

leaders in society. Our weekly Balagokulam (children’s sector) in Folsom conducts yoga, songs,
stories, games and other programs for children and adults to teach our heritage and culture. As
part of maintaining the tradition of honoring teachers, Balagokulam is celebrating Guru Vandana
on 05/11/2019.

It is my pleasure to invite you and your family to grace the Teachers’ Appreciation Day
celebrations with your presence. The children who regularly attend Balagokulam will be present
with their families. During the celebrations, students will express their gratitude to the teachers
by recalling some of their experiences and by performing a small Indian cultural show. We would
all be delighted if you can participate and offer a few words of wisdom during this event.

from 10:30am-1pm.
