PART C: PUBLIC AWARENESS AND PROMOTION ON THE PROGRAM.

To develop a good and responsible leaders among students is to give them opportunities to get
engaged in activities which involving communities around them. So that they have the ability to conduct
and lead an organization in the future with full of confidence. Due to the interest of the program to the
students, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), have created a compulsory core course which provides
students with the opportunity to get engaged with the local, less privileged communities which is
Engineers in Society (MEC 600). In this course, the students are required to carry out and organize
corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities. Students have to come out with innovative and creative
idea how to communicate and inspire others people and the society at large to understand, support and
participate in this program.

Here are a few ideas to achieve the objective:

1. Spread the success of the program.


Once the program has gained people attention and traction, be sure to celebrate its success. This
is because the people who have spends their money for this program would love to hear that their
money is being put to right place and for a good use, so update them on all the good that have
been accomplished. To make this more systematic, document the progress such as the money
that have been raised, the number of people who is interested and many more.

2. Promote your charity event aggressively


For a charity event or fundraiser, spreading the word is most important thing. It will directly
affects the ability to attract volunteer. Nowadays, social media playing a main role as a platform
to communicate to the community. For example, Twitter which has become powerful and most
influence platform for promoting our program and at the same time to fundraisers. Furthermore,
Instagram also can attract the young generation as they spend time a lot with it so it easy to reach
them.
3. Organize a workshop to promote the program
In this seminar, we can introduce to the people about the concept and practice of corporate
social responsibility (CSR) so that people will aware about the importance of this program. Brief
the people about the objective of the CSR generally.
The main objectives of workshop were to:

a) Describe CSR and increase awareness of how it may help community and governments
b) Show the benefits of CSR, using examples especially based on the experience before.
