Alev Events start-up costs will include all the necessary equipment
needed for an office, legal fees, accounting fees, advertising fees, and
website development fees.
The home office equipment will be the largest chunk of the start-up
expenses. This equipment includes a 3 computer system, fax machine,
office supplies and cellular phone. The computers should have at least a
500 megahertz Celeron/Pentium processor, 64 megabytes of RAM
(preferably 128) and 6 gigabyte hard drive. One computer will become a
server with a printer and a writable CD-RW for backing up the system.
Microsoft Office will be installed on all the workstations and one
computer will need QuickBooks Pro. The office will require some desks,
bookshelves and couches. Two phone lines will be needed in addition to
a cellular phone.

The accounting fees will be used to set up the accounting suite so Alev
Events can do the accounting in-house.

The legal fees are used for the formation of the corporation as well as
for reviewing/generating standard client contracts. The advertising costs
are based on the need to communicate our service to perspective
customers. Alev stepped into the event management and introduced
everything that was never managed before by any other team of

Market Overview Analysis:-
Alev Events will serve the corporate customer in the event
planning market. Alev will be specializing in two important
niches. The first is leadership development and teaming skills
development. With the recent trend in corporate downsizing,
corporations are ditching their in-house solutions in favor of
outsourcing. Even though we are in the midst of an economic
downturn, investments in human capital are generally not
reduced. Corporations still have the need for leadership
development and teaming skills development. These are
investments that cost a bit up front but pay nice returns in the
long run. These are the services that Alev Events will specialize
in.

Additionally, Alev will offer event planning for product launches.

Product launches are an integral stage in the release of a new
product, communicating to the public about the new "thing" the
company has just released. Our customers will be companies
seeking to raise awareness about their new product release.
Alev Events will provide a complete service of planning and
hosting these product release events.
 Market Segmentation

Alev is providing services to corporate customers only. We will

not be going after the "social market" which is an alternative
market within the event planning niche.
The corporate customer is a company that contracts with Alev
to plan and typically host an event for the company.
Corporations will be turning to Alev to plan the events because:

It is cost efficient for a third party to plan the event. This is the
case because the third party only does event planning so they
can plan and host the event more efficiently.
The company does not have additional people that can be taken
away from their daily job and invest time in this infrequent
event.
Our event planning services for corporate retreats will typically
be utilized by larger corporations. A larger company can be
generally defined as one with more than 40 employees. Smaller
companies sometimes will utilize this service of ours, however, it
is the larger corporations that typically have the budget for this
activity.

For our product launch event planning, we will be servicing

companies of all different sizes. Typically the companies that
use this service will be product based companies, but we will
also offer this service to service-based companies who desire to
announce a new service that they are offering.
 Service Business Analysis
Competition in event planning is fierce. Look in the Yellow Pages
and you will see rows and rows of listings. Lucky for Alev Events,
the majority of the event planning is for social events. There are
very few companies that specialize in corporate event planning.
There are no companies that specialize in specific types of
corporate events. Additionally, with the recent trend of
corporate downsizing, the companies that had an in-house
solution are abandoning these positions in favor of outsourcing
to reduce costs.
 Competition and Buying Patterns
Currently there are three other companies that offer event
planning specifically to corporations. They however, tend to do
events that are more general in scope such as parties to reward
customers or employees, or events to change the company
image. There is no company that specializes in event planning of
corporate training and product release events. There are
companies that offer corporate training, but these companies
provide the actual training and do not do any of the actual event
planning/ logistics of the entire event.

There are companies that provide product-release services, but

they do not specialize in it. Because event planning is a tight
market, Alev will benefit from their specialization in this area.

In the past, the buying patterns for the larger corporations was
in the past to have an in-house solution. This pattern is is
disappearing in favor of outsourcing as there is the constant
drive for gains in efficiency, something outsourcing can offer.

 Target Market Segment Strategy

Alev Events is targeting large companies for our corporate
retreat event planning. The large corporations typically have the
budget and the foresight to recognize the value in corporate
retreats. In addition, it is the larger corporations that typically
use the corporate retreat as a training session for their
employees. The training is typically in leadership development
or teaming skills. While they do have these retreats at different
intervals through the year, it is more cost effective for them to
hire a service such as CRP to plan the events when needed
instead of paying the carrying costs of having a full-time, trained
employee ready to do the planning when it is needed.

Alev Events is unique in that we give our clients our undivided

attention. We listen to their needs and work with them to
create the event of their dreams. Our clients' wishes become
our commands. So whether our client wants a Western,
Tropical, Las Vegas or more traditional wedding or anniversary
party, we can help. Our services include weddings, honeymoons,
receptions, anniversary consultations, budget planning, answers
to etiquette questions, as well as full-service referrals to florists,
hair stylists, entertainers, musicians, etc.

Nearly $15 billion are spent every year on weddings and

receptions. Therefore, professional wedding consultants are a
commodity, not a calamity. Alev Events are full-service wedding
consultants that offer a variety of services to our clients. We
pride ourselves on being professional and courteous at all times
and we have packages to suit everyone's needs.
As previously stated, marriage is a billion dollar industry,
therefore, just about everyone we meet is a potential client.
However, we mostly advertise to brides, grooms, and family
members.

Alev is providing services to social market as well as corporate

market in the event planning niche. Social Market includes all
the individuals from diversified background however specially
the South Asian Community. The social class will be the Elite
class who can afford the services of event planning for
celebrations, wedding, parties, cultural events, musical shows,
etc. The corporate customer is a company that contracts with
Alev to plan and typically host an event for the company.
Corporations will be turning to Alev to plan the events.

Currently there are three other companies that offer event

planning specifically to corporations. They however, tend to do
events that are more general in scope such as parties to reward
customers or employees, or events to change the company
image. There is no company that specializes in event planning of
corporate training and product release events.

There are companies that offer corporate training, but these

companies provide the actual training and do not do any of the
actual event planning/ logistics of the entire event.
There are companies that provide product-release services, but
they do not specialize in it. Because event planning is a tight
market, Alev will benefit from their specialization in this area.

In the past, the buying patterns for the larger corporations was
in the past to have an in-house solution.

This pattern is disappearing in favor of outsourcing as there is

the constant drive for gains in efficiency, something outsourcing
can offer.

Alev is providing services to corporate customers only. We will

not be going after the "social market" which is an alternative
market within the event planning niche.

The corporate customer is a company that contracts with Alev

CORPORATE PRIORITIES
Our employees are our most valuable asset

Sustain the momentum of our growth plan

Maintain and improve our reputation for excellent service and

quality.

Objectives:-

Identifying and determining corresponding control

measures
The first objective of the Event Management Process is
identifying events and determining corresponding control
measures. There can be several updates or changes in a service
or configuration item. Some of these changes can be critical
while some changes can be minor without impacting other
aspects of the IT services. The categorization of these events
and defining appropriate control measures for these different
events is an objective of the Event Management Process.

Programming events in such a way that operational

information is transferred
The second objective of the Event Management Process is that
events can be programmed in such a way that operational
information is transferred. For instance, logging into an
application is an event or starting a service is an event from IT
service management point of view. These actions indicate
changes in a configuration item or in a service i.e. they are
classified as events. These are all operational information to
manage the service operation in an IT Service Provider and the
Event Management Process aims to program the flow and
management of these kinds of operational information in an IT
Service Provider.

Forming the base of many routine activities in operations

management
Another objective of the Alev Events forms the basis of many
routine activities of Operation Management. Password change
requests every three months is an example of a routine activity
for instance. Some companies force employees to change their
password every month while some companies force a password
change three months etc. Password changes is a routine activity
of operation management and these kinds of routine activities
are formed by the Event Management Process.

Providing the entry point for many process and activities

of Service Operation
The fourth objective of the Alev Event is providing the entry
point for many processes and activities of Service Operation. A
problem, an issue or an indication in ITIL service management is
the start point for investigation, monitoring and analyzing to find
an appropriate solution for the event. Therefore, the Event
Management Process is the entry point for many processes and
activities of service operation.

Providing a basis for service assurance, reporting and

service improvement
The fifth objective of Alev Event is providing a basis for service
assurance, reporting and service improvement. IT service
providers aim for service improvement to improve the provided
services consistently to increase the value provided to the
customers. The Alev Events helps to increase this value
delivered to the customers.

What is the difference between an alert and an event in

the Event Management Process?
Alert and Event are the concepts related to the Alev Events.
Alerts
An alert is a warning that a threshold has been reached,
something has changed, or a failure has occurred that is
managed in the Alev Event For instance, a disk of a server might
have reached its full capacity, or an application might have gone
down, or a user might have entered his password incorrectly
three times causing his account to become locked. These are all
examples of alerts in the Alev Event.
Alerts are often created and managed by System Management
tools and are managed by the Event Management Process. To
take immediate action for the alerts, system monitoring tools
are used by IT service providers during the Event Management
Process. These tools monitor the IT services and configuration
items to check whether there are any alerts. For instance, these
tools check whether there is any critical failure in an application
or whether there is any exceeded threshold for a pre-
determined level. These alerts are monitored by system
administrators and proper actions are taken immediately before
these turn into further problems in the service delivery.
Goals:-
1. Goal: Stronger social media presence:-
Let’s start with an area we know you’re familiar with – social
media! Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest are just
some of the platforms you should be using on a regular basis as
the owner of an event planning business. Not only will they help
you build your brand identity, they’ll also help you connect with
potential clients. If you’ve already been using social media,
great! However, with a new year ahead, there’s never been a
better time to step up your social media game, and there are a
number of different ways to do so.

While meme posts generate the most likes, they don’t inspire
people to hire you for their event planner needs. Create original
content on each platform you use. While you can (and should)
share funny event-related posts from time to time, your main
focus should be showing off your talents to a target audience.
Emotional appeals, tips, ideas, and trend trends posts will attract
new followers. Draw up an editorial schedule for yourself and
set specific checkpoints (such as weekly or monthly milestones)
to make sure you’ve achieved the followers you want and that
your content is engaging. The only way you can see growth is if
you track it!
Think of growing your social media presence as a marathon,
rather than a sprint. Be sure to interact with your followers
instead of simply sitting back. You’re much more likely to gain
likes and followers if you’re liking and following other people! Of
course, some days you’ll fare better than others in growth. But
growing by 20 likes one day and 5 the other is far better than by
single digits each week.

2. Goal: Increase revenues

As a business owner, you know the importance of financial
literacy. Charging the right amount, making sure you get paid,
and keeping your event business afloat is all part of the job!
Many business owners begin the New Year with the goal of
increasing their revenue. But it can be tricky to know where to
start!

Setting an ambitious goal for your event planning business

requires you to examine your sales strategy. Look closely at your
list of clients, the number of events you plan per year, and the
expertise and scope of the competition. Take time to add
sections to your strategy, including what opportunities you can
take advantage of, where the competition is falling short, and
what your clients are up to. Depending on the size of your event
planning business, you may need to hire some employees to
grow your team. The heart of a successful business is made up
of dedicated and passionate employees. When you have a team
who loves event planning and making people happy as much as
you do, you’ll throw events that keep clients coming back for
more! After you evaluate your company and local industry, it’s
time to outline your goals. There’s no sense in only knowing
what you want. You’ll also need to figure out how you’ll achieve
it! A goal won’t work unless you take it seriously, so you need to
put a real plan in place to help you get there. Having a notebook
with goals written down will be a constant reminder of what you
want to achieve and what you’re working towards.
3. Goal: Improve customer satisfaction
This one is huge! Events are highly personal. While you can
expect the final goal to be the same, the individual elements
included will all differ. An example would be a wedding. All
weddings are thrown to celebrate the union of a couple and
their families. But every couple will have a different vision for
what they want. Some want a small, rustic wedding and others
want a 500-person, highly religious celebration. No matter the
scale, give the utmost respect and consideration when planning
them. Especially when it comes to stepping into unfamiliar
territory, do some research! If they wanted cookie-cutter events
that don’t reflect their values, they wouldn’t reach out to an
event planner. Nobody wants to be snubbed just because they
aren’t throwing a big theatrical production!
A new year is a prime opportunity to sharpen your customer
service skills. Examine a new approach in crafting the best first
impression; revamp your website and contact channels to
become more accessible; or even go the extra mile when writing
proposals! You may think you’re currently providing stellar
service to your clientele (and we’re sure you are!), but setting a
goal to take things even further in 2019 will only make your
clients happier, and add more to your list.
Destination wedding with beautiful decor by a professional
wedding planner

Similar to your social media goals for 2018, draw up a few

documents to help you meet this one. Use a call schedule to
regularly let clients know the status of their upcoming event,
and keep detailed planning timelines to ensure nothing is
overlooked. These type of schedules will keep you on track and
help you achieve your goal of more satisfied clients!

4. Goal: Better business networking

Event planners are social by nature, which comes in handy when
building a network! Especially when you’re just starting out,
you’ll need to build relationships with clients, vendors, and
other planners if you want to get noticed. Your local event
industry may already have some top dogs pulling in most of the
clients. How can you make yourself look like an appealing choice
when other planners have the vendor-list and portfolio to prove
their worth? You have to put yourself out there! It sounds
counter-intuitive, but befriending your competitors can actually
help grow your business!
Meeting other industry professionals can only improve your
reputation, clientele, and knowledge of the field. However,
there is a right way to go about networking, and it doesn’t
involve spending hours mingling aimlessly with strangers.

Research upcoming trade shows and conferences for the year.

When you have all the important conferences marked down on
your calendar, you can prepare ahead of time. No more getting
off-guard when someone asks you what you do! Just make sure
they’re right for your business (think wedding shows and food
expos, for example)! Once you have a short list, set a goal for
each show, such as collecting names for a mailing list,
networking with new vendors, and scheduling free client
consultations afterwards.

Having goals in mind will keep you focused throughout the

events, and you won’t find yourself spinning your wheels while
your precious time fades away. Be prepared at trade shows with
a professional booth, signage, and marketing collateral – this is a
wonderful opportunity for you to make yourself known, and
make the most of your time at the event.

Products/Services Research
If you are organizing a corporate event then it is necessary for
you as an event manager to do research of the products/
services promoted and sold by your corporate client.
- Find out how the company promotes its products
- How the company wants to build/enhance the image
associated with its product (also known as the brand image)?
- What is the market value and market share of the company
and its products?
- Who are the customers of the product?
- What are the features of the product?
- What are the advantages and disadvantages of the product in
comparison to competitors' products?
All this research will later help you in making an effecting
promotional campaign for your corporate event.

SWOT Analysis:-
In SWOT Analysis:

'S' stands for Strengths

'W' stands for Weaknesses
'O' stands for Opportunities
'T' stands for Threats

It is a strategic planning tool which is used to identify and

analyze the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats
involved in your project. SWOT analysis can also be done on
your organization.

Strengths:
These are the attributes of your project/organization which are
helpful in achieving project's objectives. For e.g.: experienced
event team, high motivation level, excellent PR, good market
share etc.

Weaknesses:
These are those attributes of your project/organization which
are harmful in achieving project's objectives. For e.g.: social
loafing, lack of funds, inexperienced event team, low energy
level, lack of media and corporate contacts etc.

Opportunities:
These are those external factors which are helpful in achieving
the project's objectives. For e.g.: little competition, favorable
economic conditions, support from the local authorities,
availability of the state of the art infrastructure etc.

Threats:
These are those external factors which are harmful in achieving
the project's objectives. For e.g.: high competition, little or no
support from local authorities, bad weather, poor infrastructure,
high lab our rate, unavailability of raw material etc. It is very
important that you conduct SWOT analysis before developing an
event plan to develop a strategy which maximizes the potential
of strengths and opportunities of your project and at the same
time, minimizes the impact of the weaknesses and threats.

Analysis Report
After conducting market, competitors, product/service research
and SWOT analysis, create a report which contain details of all
the research work done by you. Documentation of your research
work is important, later for event evaluation. Your analysis
report will also help you in getting sponsorship for your event.

AV support
You might be holding your meeting in a purpose built training
room that already has plenty of equipment and support built
into the room, or already provided - for example an LCD
projector and screen. Or you might be holding your company
conference in a hotel room that has nothing, and you need the
full stage, screen, lecterns and on-site support. Our in-house
conference production and AV team can assist you from basic
audiovisual requirements to full-scale production sets. We can
produce conceptual ideas with visual art work and detailed
costings to support these. We use the latest CAD technology to
present our ideas to you. We’ll leave nothing to the imagination
so you can really understand how your stage set or exhibition
will look.
Design, print, badges
We work with an associate in-house company for all our design
requirements, and can take responsibility for the design,
production and delivery of all promotional and conference
material for your event. We work closely with your project team
to provide assistance wherever necessary. This could include
flyers, posters, programs and delegate packs, that will be
sympathetic to your corporate brand guidelines. Of course, for
a 'green event' all of this can be produced and sent
electronically!

Competitive Edge:-
Competitive edge the fact that a company has an advantage
over its competitors: The low overheads of the company gave it
a competitive edge over other retailers. Gain/maintain/retain a
competitive edge the business needs to innovate in order to
maintain a competitive edge.
Know your competition

To stay ahead of your competitors, you need to know your

competition. Competitor’s analysis should be nothing new in a
business plan, but with an active industry, your analysis should
be carried out periodically to stay updated on your peers. This
includes both primary and secondary competitors. A simple
search on Google should inform you about emerging companies
in the industry, their product offerings, and unique selling
points. Listed companies may provide information on strategies
and future goals or plans, which can give you an idea of the
strengths and weaknesses of your competitors.

Identifying your competitors’ strengths can inform you on areas

that require improvement in order to stay competitive, while
weaknesses can present themselves as opportunities where
your company can fill the gaps and supersede your competitors
in the events industry.
Understand your audience

If other businesses are your competitors, your consumers would

be the judges of the competition, so always be aware of your
target audience, their needs, and their expectations. Consumer
behavior can change according to macro environmental factors
such as economic and social conditions; so do pay attention to
these determinants. Be responsive to your consumers’ needs by
establishing communication, whether to prospects or existing
customers. Communicating with prospects can inform you of
concerns they have in selecting a company to work with, and
allow you to adjust your pricing, promotional, and marketing
strategies accordingly in order to tap into potential consumers.
Don’t neglect your existing customers however — customer
loyalty is invaluable and it is most cost-efficient to retain your
consumers Keep in touch with your customers and constantly
ask for feedback that can improve your customer experience,
and offer perks and discounts for long-term customers to show
your appreciation and discourage them from jumping ship to
your competitors.

Keep your employees

Staying competitive involves more than just your competitors
and audience, but your staff, who are one of your key assets. As
mentioned above, communication between you and your
customers are highly important, and chances are that your staff
will be bridging the interaction between your business and your
consumers. Provide your staff with constant training and skill
developments so that they are able to keep up with the latest
industrial developments and in turn, offer top quality service to
your customers. Well-trained and motivated employees
underline an efficient and thriving working environment, which
is helpful in attracting new recruits and retaining existing
talents.

Like your customers, you wouldn’t want your employees

jumping ship to competitive businesses. The talent pool can be
limited, so human resource management should be conducted
with care. Besides offering a competitive wage, offer a
productive workplace culture, employee benefits, as well as
opportunities for skills and career development, so that
employees will choose to stay and grow with your company.

Conclusion
The events industry can be a competitive one, but you can make
your way to the top and keep your place ahead of your
competitors by staying updated on the latest developments in
the industry and adjusting your strategies accordingly. Position
your competitors and understand their strengths and
weaknesses in order to find a gap your business can fill and take
meticulous care in customer relations and human resources
management.

Previous Events:-
Movie night at my own college
At first I was quite afraid because it was my first time I was
about to handle an event in my own college but somehow I
managed to do it.
Firstly I went to the chairperson of my college and tell her all
about in which field I am devoting myself and she was quite
happy and excited to see that her own student is doing so great
in her life and because of her confidence in me I did great that
night and all went wonderful and the best part which I never
could imagine was that people were asking that is there going to
be another movie night just like that and I was like….YES guys.
Future Plans:-
We have seen a rise in creative and offbeat event venues, and
we predict this is one of the event planning trends that will
continue to grow. With a focus on creating memorable,
interactive experiences, meetings and events that choose
venues beyond the standard will drive attendee engagement. In
coming years, unconventional meeting and event venues will
pique interest and create unforgettable memories, building your
event’s story in an organic way. Taking on the task of
transforming an unexpected space will set a foundation of
innovation and add loads of value to your event.
