WHAT DO WE HAVE TO DO TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN

THE ERA OF BONUS DEMOGRAPHY
Indonesia is a nation based on Pancasila, which contains the noble values of the
founders of the nation. Pancasila is what distinguishes the Indonesian nation with other
nations. Pancasila contains values about divinity, unity, humanity and noble values that
reflect a good attitude for the nation. Indonesian society is also a society that consists of
various ethnic, religious, racial and many other diversity.

Diversity is the main attraction for a great nation like Indonesia which became a vast
archipelago country. The life of nation and state in the diverse Indonesian nation is often the
concern of outsiders who want to examine the diversity life in Indonesia. Diverse tourism is
also often the attention of foreigners who come to our country.

Foreigners and foreigners often give the impression that people in Indonesia are
friendly people, have a high courtesy, wherever, whatever territory they go in Indonesia the
people they meet are always friendly and polite, things this makes the Indonesian nation to be
one of the most friendly nation of people according to some surveys.

It is true that Indonesia is declared a friendly nation, but let us see in terms of the
internal life of people in Indonesia. In terms of life among people we often encounter clashes
between villagers that sometimes occur only because of trivial issues, which in no way
describe the friendly attitude that is often spoken of by outsiders. From a cultural point of
view, we often encounter intercultural conflicts that attach importance to and regard their
own culture better than other peoples' cultures.

In addition our government is far from describing the word friendly, because
corruption, collusion and nepotism have been rampant and infect this nation. Life that
describes Indonesian hospitality may be only often encountered in rural communities that are
still natural and not too affected by the flow of globalization. If in the urban environment it is
difficult to find the concept of friendly society that is often identical with the Indonesian
nation. Many urban societies do not even recognize neighboring neighbors and tend to be
individualistic and associate with certain people.
In the 21st century, people around the world including Indonesia are required to have
skills that support the 21st century. Skills must be owned since we sat in school. Along with
the progress of society must arise the complexity in resolving conflicts hence the skills
needed in solving problems effectively in real time by using unique solutions, creative and
carefully designed. In addition, problem solvers can work independently of higher
supervision. They are taking initiative and enjoying the risk, and they are not afraid to make
their hands dirty and make mistakes. They also learn from the mistakes, and mediocre
thinking of their processes to create more efficient and economical solutions. This is the kind
of people who will succeed in a global market like ours. Such individuals are an asset to any
workforce. It should be mentioned that in the future we are talking about, workers who can
not think proactively in solving problems will have difficulty finding work.

Besides awareness about the occurrence of globalization is the attitude to accept a fact
that the planet where we are is increasingly narrowed by the breakthrough in the field of
science and technology. Attitudes in the face of globalization is not against the flow of
globalization but we must be able to "tame" globalization itself. Globalization is a continuous
process, if we slowly follow it then we will increasingly lag. But it will also be fatal if we are
wrong in treating it. Our nation has a noble cultural value, which can serve as a pillar and
filter against negative influences, and as a supporter of values and influence, which has a
positive impact on the life of the nation and the state. For example is "Pela Gandong" in
Ambon for the foundation of harmony, the adage "standing pee teacher, pupil urine running"
for exemplary, "rawe-rawe rantas malang putung" as a symbol of togetherness, and "penance
silih and compassion to educate the community. Would not this cultural value also be a
supporting factor as well as a pillar of globalization.

The basic assumption for understanding the demographic bonus is the condition of the
composition of the population of productive age (15-64 years) is greater than the population
of non-productive age (below 15 and above 65 years) within a certain time span. Ideally, the
public can find out what the demographic bonus, namely to understand their position in the
life of the nation, as well as with stakeholders to realize the importance of issuing of policies
that can support that potential possessed by the inhabitants of the productive age optimum
and maximum. The hope is the emergence of an awareness of the strategic role of productive
age population, especially young people as the 'motor' of the nation. Basically there is a
requirement to be able to take advantage of opportunities demographic bonus that is, the
realization of qualified people with the availability of good education, and the availability of
good health care, work ethic, and policies that support the productive age so powerful.

The logic of thinking is, how will the creation of quality population, while there are
many people who can not get an education evenly at a high level levels as a condition for
getting a good job. If there is provision of facilities such as schools, are already largely of
people of Indonesia were able to take, especially financially, because of the expensive cost of
school or given opportunities, including access and adequate facilities, especially in remote
areas or border.

Thus, when the demographic bonus is the talk of the opportunities that can be taken
from a population of only one possessed of a nation, then, need the support of other interested
parties, such as the issues of population, health, education, employment and even religion.
Hence the need for joint movement to socialize, find strategies and maximize the potential of
the Indonesian nation to seize the opportunity of this demographic bonus.

To socialize, to define strategy, and to maximize the potential possessed by the

Indonesian nation to seize this demographic bonus opportunity, we must have true integrity.
