If you were to see the ups and downs of my transcripts you would also notice the change
in schools. This being my third high school, my circumstances were changing constantly. The
only time where things were stable was my sophomore year and I did really good, even got
myself involved in a club. I think over the years I matured and made sure I put effort in my
grades regardless of the changes in my life. It’s hard not to put school second or third or even
fourth to everything.
My freshman year like most kids I didn’t take school seriously, my sophomore year I did
really good, junior year decent, this year a more consistent good with the occasional stressful
grade here and there. Im honestly just glad im graduating, “circumstances change about every
three months” my recruiter told me, and damn he was right. Part of the reason I began to keep
my grades in check was because of my recruiter. Always keeping up with me and not afraid to
check my grades himself. This year the military pulled me through everything, it was my
motivation. Summer school sucked but I did what I needed to do and now I look forward to my
diploma.
Im not neccesarily proud of my performance in school because overall it was just decent.
If I could change anything it would be to find something sooner to motivate me to apply myself
more to school. When I see my lower grades I think of all the days I came to school with no

sleep, stressed, emotional. Like every other kid probably. Showing up anyways was part of
growing up. Im happy to be graduating with the people im graduating with. Most of all im ready
to leave highschool.
