Dear Jason,

It was very nice to hear from you recently! First of all I am very glad to hear that your business
as a sports photographer is going great. I have also received the photos you attached and it sure
looks like you and your family have a great time in Brazil. I loved the pictures from Rio de
Janeiro; I found the one with the monkey and the flower to be extremely amusing.

As you know, I recently decided to move in with my boyfriend, given that we have already been
together for 4 years and that would be the best decision both financially and for the future of our
relationship. Well, we finally did it! We bought an apartment in the center of the city. It’s also
pretty close to the university, so that benefits both of us. The only thing that we don’t really like
about it is that the kitchen is pretty small, so small in fact that we had to sell the old table that we
had and improvise a kind of hinged design. It was a nice experience, building something original
with my boyfriend.

I have also been traveling lately, as I went to visit my grandmother in California. I left early in
the morning because I didn’t want to get stuck in traffic. When I arrived she was really surprised
to see me so early, since she wanted to bake me some cookies, so you could say that I kind of
ruined her plans. But that was no big deal because we ended up ordering Chinese food and sat
down chatting for about 3 hours. It was a great chance for me to let my hair down and keep my
mind off the work that I have to do for college.
I’m missing the times when we used to hang out. We should meet up with our former classmates
once you return from Brazil, for the old time’s sake. I can’t wait for your return, we really have a
lot of catching up to do. Write me back as soon as you can.

Sincerely,
Laura
