Task: Read part of an email from a friend who is planning to come and live in your country.

``Of course, I`d really need to learn the language. I know you`ve been learning English for
years, so you`ve had loads of experience. Are there any tricks of the trade that might help me
pick up your language a bit more quickly?``
Reply to the email message offering your friend some advice.

Dear Brianne,
Thanks for your last letter. I`m sorry that I haven`t responded earlier but I`ve been out of
town. I am so happy to hear that you are preparing to come soon. As for the advice you need,
I might have some ideas.
Since I`ve started learning English, the best way of improving it has always been watching
movies, tv shows or reading articles and books. It`s quite the hard way, but once you get used
to it it`s just uphill from there.
But there`s other options if you`d rather get help, not just study on your own. If you`d like
help from a specialized person, you could always find a tutor that will explain things in further
detail. Also, you can get a friend, who`s more skilled than you, to help.
While I`d love to write more, I`m afraid I have to go. Email me the date of your arrival so I
can come pick you up. If there`s any more that I can help you with, don`t let anything stop you
from emailing me.

Yours truly,
Mary
