For plant buildings, earth rings shall be provided which have to be connected to the
main earthing ring at two or more points. Connection shall be by copper strip, cable or
flexible braid. If stranded conductors are used than approved crimped type lugs and
COPPER BAR 40/3 mm meters 30 30 bolts shall be used.
The scope of work for the electrical erection includes the earthing (grounding) and
bonding of all herein specified electrical equipment e.g.: motors, actuators, panels,
St/tZn CONDUCTOR d 10mm meters 1800 1800 local boards, transmitter racks, instruments, cable trays, cable glands, conduits and
structural steelwork as well as the earthing of all electrical equipment supplied and
erected by others (e.g. electrical motors supplied by the mechanical contractor).
In general the requirements of the KESC specification related to the earthing and
St/tZn CROSS JUNCTION pc 2 2 bonding of various electrical equipment and the attached earthing specifications are
applicable.
Included in the scope of erection work for earthing and bonding is :
• Erection of all supports for the relevant earthing conductors and bars as far as
St/tZn 'T'-JUNCTION pc 100 100 necessary.
• The mechanical treatment and mounting of the earthing conductors and bars in
