Waste Management Plan

Introduction:

This is M/S Hangzhou JinJiang Group Sanitation Services Co. Pakistan (Pvt.) Limited Eid-ul-Azha’s plan 2018. This
plan will cover detailed information regarding the resources and services, which shall be provided by Hangzhou
Jinjinag Group during Eid days.

HJJG is going to make special arrangements for Solid Waste Management (SWM) on the coming Eid-ul-Azha. The
Company in coordination with SSWMB will attempt to offer exemplary cleanliness arrangements. The activities will
mainly focus on prompt collection, storage, transportation and disposal of animal waste during all three days of
Eid. All the staff of HJJG will remain on board during Eid days to provide efficient SWM services to the citizens of
District Malir.

Methodology

For District Malir the HJJG will establish 4 offal collection points and in each collection point there will be staff to
address the complaints of the citizens and also to efficiently coordinate cleanliness activities in the Union Councils.
Moreover, awareness material and garbage bags for animal waste will also be available in these collection points.
A control room will be established in HJJG office in DHA Phase VIII with special focus to coordinate collective
operational activities during Eid days.

Estimation for Waste Generation in District Malir during 3 days of Eid ul Adha

In District Malir it is estimated that around 121,100 animals will be sacrificed in the coming Eid ul Adha, this figure
is carefully estimated after studying the previous year’s patterns and consultation with DMC Officials.

The calculations of tonnage are based on the assumption that large animal’s offal will weigh 35 kg and small
animal’s offal will weigh 10 kg.

 - 10 Tractor Trolleys will be deployed on N5 and Mehran Highway during 1st, 2nd and 3rd day of Eid.

M/S Hangzhou JinJiang Group Sanitation Services Co. Pakistan (Pvt.) Limited will procure all the above material
before Eid ul Adha. Rented vehicles along with drivers will be arranged through private contractors to meet the
fleet requirements.

Trenches will be dug at the disposal site, where the offal waste will be buried to ensure safe disposal of waste.

Transportation of Offals from Collection points to Disposal site:

Large dumpers will be used for the transportation of offals from the four designated collection points to the
disposal site.

Staff Responsibilities :

- Deputy Director Operations, Mr. Tariq Ali Nizamani will overall supervise and monitor the offal collection
and disposal operations on SSWMB’s behalf and GM operations and Project Manager (Hangzhou Jinjiang
Group) will ensure smooth running of operations during three days of Eid.
- Chief Sanitary Inspector on SSWMB’s behalf and Zonal Manager and District Coordinator on company’s
behalf will supervise the Sub Inspectors and UC supervisors deployed in various UC’s in District Malir.
- Sub Inspectors and UC supervisors will be responsible for the lifting and transportation of offals from their
respective UC’s to the disposal site.
- Drivers will collect the offals and will transport them to the disposal site.
- Sanitary workers will clean the collection points and will sprinkle lime stone powder and disinfectants in
their respective UC’s for the prevention of bad odor and to kill bacteria.

Control Room and Complaint Cell:

Main Control room during three days of Eid would be the head office of the Company situated in DHA Phase VIII.
Plus there will be a complaint cell in DMC Malir Building Room no. 29, where complaint officer will be deployed to
receive and resolve complaints.
