EHPMs MIGRATION

Prerequisites

1. Check on screen if the primary HPM is on the left side and the secondary to the right side. If not  do a SWAP
and wait 7 min.
2. Disable automatic checkpoint.
3. Reconstitute the primary HPM and set the corresponding $ DEVIDX. NOTE: a WARNING appears  according to
manual this can be ignored
4. Reconstitute the secondary HPM and press CTRL + F12, even if you do not have $DEVIDX.
5. Checkpoint to the NET to save changes of the previous sections

MIGRATION OF THE SECONDARY HPM

1. Shutdown the secondary HPM  ALIVE.

2. Remove the I/O LINK card from FILE 2 (5cm)  OFFNET.
3. Remove the HPM COMM/CTRL card and UCN INTERFACE (leave it to one side with the UCN cables connected).
4. Insert the EHPM COMM/CTRL card.
5. Insert the FTE INTERFACE card with its corresponding $DEVIDX on the rotary switches.. IP should be even.
6. Connect the FTE cables. Do NOT connect the CROSSOVER cable.
7. Insert the I/O LINK card  ALIVE.
8. Update firmware (only BOOT ONLY)  EPA TOOL.
9. Power cycle I/O LINK card  ALIVE.
10. Check in the $FTESTS2 display: BOOT firmware version, IP address, FTE device index and Authentication Group.
11. Load the secondary EHPM and wait 7 min.

MIGRATION OF THE PRIMARY HPM

1. Swap Primary and wait 7 min. Now the EHPM run as primary. Check with the operators that everything work as
usual. Do not be in this state more tan 2 hours.
2. Shutdown the secondary HPM  ALIVE.
3. Remove the I/O LINK card from FILE 1 (5cm)  OFFNET.
4. Remove the HPM COMM/CTRL card and UCN INTERFACE (leave it to one side with the UCN cables connected).
5. Insert the EHPM COMM/CTRL card.
6. Insert the FTE INTERFACE card with its corresponding $DEVIDX on the rotary switches.. IP should be odd.
7. Connect the FTE cables. Do NOT connect the CROSSOVER cable.
8. Insert the I/O LINK card  ALIVE.
9. Update firmware (only BOOT ONLY)  EPA TOOL.
10. Power cycle I/O LINK card  ALIVE.
11. Check in the $FTESTS2 display: BOOT firmware version, IP address, FTE device index and Authentication Group.
12. Load the secondary EHPM and wait 7 min.
13. SWAP to leave the primary EHPM in file 1 and the secondary in file 2 and wait 7 min.
