possibility to enter his daily load target into the
system, for example: if the operator’s target is 20
load transfers per day, as the load transfer count
proceeds, the system will inform the operator’s
performance in relation to the proposed target.
The target is to be entered in tons/hour and on
the “Target rate” window.

Starting a new task

All registers carried out by the system are related to

a specific task.

To create a task, the operator must go to the

“Performance” icon of the main screen.

27

On entering this section, the operator must register

the following items:

1. Owner of the Farm (Grower);

2. Farm;
3. Harvest area (Field);
4. Crop Type (Sugar cane);
5. State whether green or burnt cane.

28

After performing these registers, the operator must

start a task by selecting the “Task” window and press
the “enter” button (1, fig. 1).

A screen will appear, where the operator is to select

the “Edit Name” option and enter the name of the task,
while the system will show default date and time of
creation of the task.

When the operator creates a new task, it stops the

last task automatically.

If work has to be done using previous tasks, these may

be accessed by selecting the ‘Task’ window again,
press the ‘Enter’ button, choose the ‘Select’ option of 29
the menu, find the desired task and press the ‘Enter’
button once more to select it.

Messages to the operator

Once the name of a task has been entered and as

soon as the machine starts moving, all information
related to the harvest and the machine will be logged
during the harvest.

If the machine be switched off or be stationary, with

the engine running, for more than 3 minutes during
the operation, the system will send a message to the
operator enquiring why the machine is stationary; now
the operator has to choose an option within the Idle
reason list, select the right option and press “Confirm”
with the “enter” button (1, fig. 1).
30
After choosing the idle reason, the operator must
select the Insert button and press the “enter” button
(1, fig. 1), thus releasing the machine and allowing it
to go on working.

If the idle reason is change of operator, when this

option is selected, the system will enquire who the
operator is. This question will also be asked whenever
the machine is switched off.

The example in figure shows “cnh” as the operator’s

name; if this is actually the name of the person
operating the machine, just select “Yes” and press
the “enter” button (1, fig. 1).
31
If the operator’s name is not the one appearing on
the screen, select “No” and press the “enter” button
(1, fig. 1).

A list of registered operators will be exhibited and the

operator just has to find his name and/or identification
and press the “enter” button (1, fig. 1).

NOTE: If the operator’s name and/or identification is

not on the list of names, it will be necessary to register
the operator, following the procedure described in
Item 3.

11
DATA LOGGER

On-board computer

This device allows the operator to monitor machine

consumption during harvest and machine travel.

NOTE: After finishing a task, the monitored data will

‘disappear from the monitor’ and data logging will be
started anew, meaning that all information shown
on the on-board computer screens is related to a
specific task.

The machine leaves the factory with a default

setting, the operator may, however, include additional
information by following the procedure described in
Item “Screen layout assembly”.

1. Performance controllers

There are 3 performance controllers to check time

and consumption:

Highway mode: To engage the highway mode, to be

used by the operator for machine travel, the operator
must actuate the lever (1). With the higway mode
engaged, the operator just has to shift the lever (1)
again to return to harvest mode.

NOTE: A Highway symbol will be shown at the upper

end of the monitor, as soon as the highway mode is
engaged.

Field mode: Whenever the field mode is not engaged,

the field mode counter will be activated.

32
Work mode: On reaching base cutting work pressure
and height, the system understands that the machine
is actually working, and in this mode the system will
perform harvest area and time counts.

NOTE: To activate this counter, base cutting pressure

must be above 42 bar and working height must be
below 100 UN.

33

- Highway information readings screen.

34

External memory

The monitor of the AFS 200 is not equipped with an

internal memory; for this reason the use of an external
memory (pen drive) is necessary.

The factory recommends the use of good quality pen

drives with up to 512MB capacity.

NOTE: Always install and remove the pen drive with

the engine switched off.

NOTE: It is imperative to constantly retrieve all

“generated data” from the external memory, because
if external memory capacity is exceeded, the system
understands that it is free to overwrite existing
information.

13
DATA LOGGER

To avoid exceeding the pen drive’s capacity and

to keep it from overwriting existing information, the
operator can monitor its capacity by going to the
Memory monitoring screen as follows:

1. Access the “Diagnostics” screen of the main

screen.

35

2. Access the “Card” tab and follow the volume of

information stored on the card.

36

When the machine is switched off, a symbol,

forbidding the removal of the pen drive, is
exhibited on the screen.

At this moment, the system is transferring the

latest information from the monitor to the pen
drive. Removal of the pen drive at this moment
may cause loss of information.

37

14

Erasing information

The operator has the possibility to erase information

through the monitor. To do this, he should proceed
as follows:

1. Select the “Data Management” window.

38

2. Select the “Delete” tab, indicate the type of

information you wish to delete.

39

As an example, we shall delete an operator by

selecting “Operator” in the “Data Type” window,
choose the operator to be excluded, and press
“Delete”.

Data transfer from the harvest to

a computer

The machine will create a data file with

extension .cn1; in order to visualize the
data through an Excel application, the
CNH-client must have the following
software: Cnh2Csv.exe

1. How to use Cnh2Csv.exe

In the window shown in the figure, the operator must

find the data file with the extension “.cn1”.

41

In the window, shown in the figure, the user must

determine a folder where the files are to be stored.

42

16
DATA LOGGER

After concluding the above mentioned indications, the

user must click on the “Run” icon.

43

Please note that the programme will furnish various

charts with the extension “.csv”.

44

The user should rename these files to extension

“.txt”.

45

17
DATA LOGGER

After renaming the files, the user should open the

Excel application and import the data.

46

When starting the data import, the user must select

the options ‘Delimitated’ and ‘Comma’.
