Step-1-screen:

a. Selection of Credit Units

You will see the ecourse registration submission page. Please select the credit units you want to
read for both Non-University Core (Non-UCore) courses (Compulsory and Elective courses found
in your Programme structure) and University Core (UCore) courses (not applicable for students in
the Law programmes) in the next semester.

b. Selection of Non-UCore Courses

i. Preference Ranking
Select your Non-UCore courses for next semester by checking the boxes and select preference
ranking (Fig. G) (assuming that you have passed all courses taken in current semester). You
can select more courses than the credit units you have indicated that you want to read in the
next semester as the additional courses will be considered as your reserve courses in the event
if the main courses you selected are not offered to you.

For instance, you can register to read 20cu of Non-UCore courses but select six 5cu of Non-
UCore courses. The four courses with preference ranking 1 to 4 will be your main selections
while the two courses with preference ranking 5 to 6 will be your reserve courses. Do note that
you are allowed to select up to a total of 12 Non-UCore and UCore courses and each course
should not have a duplicate preference ranking.

ii. Courses with More than One Presentation

For courses which are presenting in both Term 1 and 2, you can select the term which you
would like to take (see example in Fig. G where SSC211 is presenting in both terms). Please
note that you can choose the other term as a reserve if this course is not a course which needs
to be taken with another course as a group.

iii. Courses with Face-to-Face or Online Class Option
There are some courses where you can select between face-to-face or online class option.

section. In the example in Fig. H, the course run code for online class option for BUS354 is
denoted with “VRUN02 – THU, TERM 2, WEEK 2”. If you have selected this option, it meant
that you would like to register for online class for this course. There will be a message to
inform you that this option has no face-to-face classes upon final submission of your eCR
records (see example in Fig. I).

If you would like to register for the face-to-face option, you can select “RUN01 – THU, TERM
2, WEEK 2”.
